Complaint: An advertised trip for $140 turned out to be $180 when I got the signup information. An advertisement by Sports Leisure Vacations for a trip on the Napa Valley Wine Train for November 22, 2012, appeared in the Sacramento Bee. The price was $140. I called and asked to reserve for five. I was told that the information would be sent to me and I would be billed at that time. Yesterday,(October 10, 2012) I received the information and the price for the trip now is $180. I called the company and was told that it was the Sacramento Bee's error and the company would not honor the advertised price. One of my friends who planned on going with us called Sports Leisure, talked to the owner and he said it was not the paper's fault but an unfortunate error. He would not back down. I am lodging this complaint because the ad ran twice with the same information and there was time to inform me of a problem. I feel the advertising was deceptive. ****** ******
Desired Settlement: I simply want them to be honest with the public when advertising. I had to cancel and it is very disappointing to the people in our group.
