Complaint: On or about October 15th 2014, my car broke down in the town of Paradise, California. I had it towed to Russell's auto repair 797 Elliott Rd., Suite A # (530) 877-7771 fax (530)877-4122. I first bought my car from him six months prior. He was the only one I knew to take my car to so I left it there we spoke and I let him know that it was hard on me financially because I lived on a disability income ssi so we just made a verbal agreement. He first agreed for me to pay between $1,200.00 and $1,400.00 now he's asking for $1,700.00. He just asked me that as soon as I could to bring him $500, so I did. Then next time I brought him money was $200 dollars. *** on the next month I brought him $300 dollars so all together I have given him $1,000.00. He keeps on telling me that he will have my car fixed the next week he has said this for 4 months. Every week he says "I'll have it ready next week", then the next week, then the next week. I am at my last resort, so this is the reason I have contacted your Better Business Bureau I need my car for doctor appointments. I have arthritis in my legs, I don't get around that good for me to catch a bus. It is really hard to be to ask for a ride. I have to pay every time I have been up to his place several times he always tells me in a couple days or next week it will be ready it been over 4 months. My car has been in the same spot untouched. *** was towed in to shop. After taking a look at it. I told her, The *** needed the motor rebuilt, i couldnt give her a total amount. Tell i got in to it. and seen what it needed
Customer told me she didn't have the money to fix her ***, I told her she could make payments on the Labor cost, but the price of parts she would have to put down.
she has made $1000. in payments for parts. The cost of parts, ended up $1300.(parts only)
once i got it all back together, Found out It Needed a timing cover replaced. The cost of the timing cover $400.00.
 I called customer and she was irate, i was unable to talk with her.
I haven't heard Back.
