Complaint: My 2007 dodge charger was approved thru my insurance to get repainted due to a vandalism on 6/19/2012 On 6/19/12 ****** **** with The Body Shop accepted to repaint my 2007 Dodge Charger which was involved in vandalism and was approved thru Liberty Insurance claim #XX-XXX-XXXX for a total of $6309.91. I spoke with ****** and asked if I choose to paint a different color how much would the shop charge me to paint all the door jams including trunk and hood. He stated $1000 which he needed up front before he could start. The shop kept my car for 30 days which when I came to pick it up it looked good but then i notice the driver door had the thick orange peel threw out the entire door. The doors won't close tight or open properly due to the thick paint on the door jams. He asked me to take it home and bring it back the following week. As I drove home I notice the following; my door handles had the missing button to cover the screw, the trunk and gas tank jams had the same issue as the doors, windshield had over spray and the molding was sticking out of the glass, which the shop had window replaced. The inside cover of the tires had paint over spray, the tail of the trunk has thick drops of clear coat. The doors bottom molding was loose. There are sections that the paint is chipping due to dirt in the paint. They also were to replace my front and back tail light covers but instead the shop buffed them vs replacing. I told ****** per insurance agent he had to ask for a supplement to get the order approved and get them replaced. When I informed him off all the issues his answer was "well this is a repaint and since the prior paint look like **** I didn't think it would matter". I informed him he got paid for a good job and not a mess. Throughout that year I have taken the car multiple times and he has done minor and not complete repairs. The last repair was two months ago which I gave him a list of repairs are not completed, he informs me, "it's the end of the week bring it on Monday". I call him only to get informed that the owner has decided not to deal with the problem and that I'm on my own. On 4/24/12 I s/w ******* ******* from Liberty Mutual regarding my concern which he in turn called the shop and s/w ****** **** (manager) and tried to be the middle man to see if he could bring a resolution to the problem and ****** refuse to fix the issues or request a supplement for the replacement of the lenes. The Body Shop collected a total of $7309.91 between my insurance and I to repaint and fix the damages to my car. Instead the manager chooses to make up excuses on why there are so many issue because his employee who painted the car was caught getting high and he guaranteed me that the shop would fix it but instead im getting the run around.

Desired Settlement: Ive tried to get the situation resolved by myself and thru my insurance as the middle person and the manger Johnny Ford choose to ignore the issues and refuses to fix the repairs. I want a refund so i can have my car fix the right way and the first time around by a legitimate company and not my drugged out employee's. I want the full refund including of $7309.91 plus the 30day rental.

Contact Name and Title: **** ******,OWNER Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: *****@AOL.COM When the car first came to us it was painted a metallic maroon and was done very poorly and we were told it had been done by a family member. The car had very many scratches, dings, dents and chips that were not covered by the insurance repair order. We repaired all of these additional things at NO Charge to the customer. I will approach these complaints one at a time. This customer was only charged for paint & materials used to paint all 4 door jambs, inside doors,hood and trunk jambs and under hood and under trunk. No Labor of any kind was charged for this. There also was No additional money charged to customer for the paint color Upgrade which at wholesale cost our shop $581 more than the original color of the car. We had the customers car 22 business days we are open Monday thru Friday 8am until 5pm. When first brought to us we did not have approval of Liberty Insurance to do any repairs. They were supposed to send an estimator the day the car was dropped off, but estimator did not come for 4 business days and were told on the fifth we could start the work. We only had car 18 working days which is very fast for a complete repaint inside and out of car. After curing some paint shrinkage can appear after solvents dry out of the fresh paint. So we always ask our customers to stop by a month or two after receiving the car to check for this. If it has occurred we re-sand and polish any area where it has happened we not only did this to driver door but customer wanted entire car re polished so we did to make customer happy even though it did not need it. The statement that the doors wont close right or open properly due to thick paint by Us is NOT TRUE . The two covers for door handle screws were missing when car came to us from someone else taking apart, but we ordered new ones and called the customer when they came from Dodge and they are still here in our office. The customer showed us a small area of over spray on windshield and we removed it. There was no piece of molding sticking out from windshield and have never been shown this. Windshield was replaced by a local glass service and it is warrantied. We have never been shown any over spray of a tire cover. There are no thick drops of clear coat on the trunk. We re attached bottom molding of door with all new clips when we were shown it had come loose in a spot. As far as paint chips, we do not warranty paint against rock chips or anything else that hits and chips paint... NO One can. There is No dirt in this very nicely color sanded and polished paint job. We were Not paid to replace front and back tail light covers. Liberty Insurance paid us to sand and polish them and that is what we did. The customer left happy with this but returned 8 months later with complaint. So we explained all customer had to do was call Liberty Insurance and have them come reinspect at their home or work for a supplement so that we could replace them. ****** ****** from Liberty Insurance could have called the Estimator and done this also. ****** ****** told Mr. ******** that they were happy eight months ago and now want all lights replaced. Mr. ******** said he was going to take care of it. Liberty Insurance tells us what to do we don't tell them what to do. We received a car that had been non professionally completely repainted by one of their family members we were told. It had very many chips, dings, dents and scratches that were Not part of the vandalism and Not covered by Liberty Insurance. We repaired all of this additional damage approximately $1825.00 worth at NO Charge. What was told to this customer is that we repaired many many flaws in the car for FREE that were there from the previous complete repaint that had been done so poorly. We gave this customer a paint job that was far above industry standards. We have many times tried to make this customer happy... but they want a show car paint job that would cost $15,000 to $20,000. We have went FAR ABOVE what is industry standards to please this customer multiple times. We have Never had ANY employee caught getting high ever and we drug test all employees. Besides ****** ****** painted the car he is our only painter. We have exhausted all avenues of remedying this situation with this customer. What prompted all of this complaining is that this customer tried to bring in another car that was in an accident for us to repair after this 2007 Dodge Charger and we refused to take the job due to this customers unrealistic demands. We have never in 36 years ever had a Customer talk so badly and treat us so badly. They are trying to get lots of FREE stuff and work of which We have given and given very much. I **** ****** the owner of the body shop have been in business since 1977 in Yuba City & Marysville area and as You can see have Never had Any complaint of Any kind filed against Us. We are in the business of making Our customers Happy. This is the first customer we have EVER had that Nothing makes them happy. We will never do any other vehicles for this customer ever.

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
