This contractor is very poor when it comes to customer service. The business owner is arrogant and insulted me for asking questions about their installation of A/C unit replacement. Our air conditioning unit had been failing yearly for the last 2 years and we made claims to First American Home Warranty and they assigned ***** Heating and Air as the contractor. The first diagnosis was due to a slow leak of refrigerant. T N T Heating & Air re-filled the refrigerant instead of identifying where the leak was. On the third refill (which was just a month from the last refill), their technician determined that replacement of the A/C unit was necessary. T N T Heating & Air quoted over $3000 to do the repair which included many items aside from the A/C Unit replacement (provided by the home warranty). Two items I questioned were the Permits and Inspections (over $500) and the outside unit (condenser) plastic/fiberglass base (approximately $200). Right after completion of the install, I asked the lead technician why the plastic base was needed when an existing concrete will do. The technician said that the plastic base is adjustable to make sure the outside AC condenser was level to the ground. He further explained that the equipment will not last long if the install was not leveled. So, I agree that it makes sense. The following day as I passed by the newly installed outside A/C condenser, I noticed the unit was not leveled and I verified by using a level. I called T N T Heating & Air and talked to someone who introduced himself as the owner of the business. I described to the owner about the unleveled A/C condenser and he asked me ...Are you an inspector? and I said that I am a homeowner and was an ** Govt. Inspector at contractor facilities in the past but not a HVAC Inspector. Owner said that their installation was correct and the unlevel install was to make sure that water did not accumulate on the unit. I explained that his technician said otherwise. I also asked the owner when the final city inspection will be completed and he said within a month. Well, it is now past 30 days and no inspection has taken place and I verified the **************** Permit and Inspection website and no inspection has been scheduled.
