Complaint: We have been in this unit since March of 2011, Since we have been here the air conditioning unit has gotten worse and is no longer cooling correctly. It is usually 80-83 degrees in the unit, often times hotter indoors than it is outdoors. Every time it is looked at we are told that it is just not keeping up, every time we put in a maintenance request it is canceled. This has been going on for over a year. Our unit runs almost 24 hours a day and our last bill was over 200 dollars (more than it should be). I have told them in the past that the heat triggers my seizures and yet they still have not done anything about it.We are also living with mold, I have mentioned that as well and of course nothing is done about it, We had a leak in one of the rooms in the house the ceiling is stained and moldy and nothing has been done about that either.
Desired Settlement: The only action that needs to be taken is that the air conditioning unit needs to be repaired correctly or replaced. As for the mold I am not sure what is done about that other than cleaned and fixed so that the mold does not continue to grow.
Business Response: We are the management company working under the direction of the owner of this property. The owner has been presented with an estimate for upgrading the air conditioner which is working at full capacity for it's size. He is getting another estimate on his own. The tenant will be updated when the owner updates us. With regards to the "mold" the tenant has never called in on this issue. A work order has been put in to resolve this issue which is not mold but mildew caused from a leak that has previously been repaired.
BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
