I am writing to register a formal complaint against ********** Heating and Air Conditioning Company, the organization that acquired ****** Call Air Conditioning Company. My grievance pertains to the lack of transparency surrounding the acquisition and the refusal of ********** Heating and Air Conditioning to provide assistance to former ****** Call customers, leading to significant distress and inconvenience.Firstly, I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the fact that we, the customers of ****** Call Air Conditioning Company, were not made aware of the acquisition by ********** Heating and Air Conditioning. The acquisition process seemed to have taken place without any communication or notification to us, leaving us in the dark about the transition between the two companies. The severity of the situation became apparent when our air conditioning system malfunctioned and stopped cooling during the peak of hot weather. Naturally, we reached out to ********** Heating and Air Conditioning seeking assistance, expecting the same level of service we previously received from ****** Call. However, much to our dismay, ********** Heating and Air Conditioning refused to assist any former ****** Call customers and provided a vague suggestion to visit the Better Business Bureau website to find another air conditioning company, as they allegedly do not service my ***************.Review from Henry L

Called this company today July 3rd on a Sunday. They supposedly have 24hour service with no extra charge. My AC was blowing hot air. I spoke to a lady and they could come out July5th.???!!! What about 24 hour emergency service. Not available. What a joke. Do not advertise it unless you can do it. Would never call them again ever.Review from Mark P

******** merged with McCall **, which is where I bought a new, highly recommended Carrier ** 3 years ago. Since then, the fan capacitor has failed, and more recently the compressor failed. That means the whole outside unit died in just a few years, and I had to pay dearly (again) to get it working. Fixing the compressor, which was supposedly under warranty, cost us more than $2,400 to repair. It took two different service calls to Waychoffs. The first call, a tech came out and checked everything, reporting that there was no reason why we were roasting in our house while the ** is on constantly. He decided it was the drain backing up, which it wasnt because I treat the drain monthly, and blow it out every 6 months. I was relieved it wasnt an expensive fix, so the tech took advantage and upsold me to the tune of $800+. He said I had some mold inside the blower housing, and if I would buy a maintenance agreement, it would lower the price of a uv light and that days repairs. That night, we still couldnt get the house cool so I called them again. This time, it was the 3 year old compressor, which would cost $1,600 in labor to replace. I asked about the warranty and the maintenance agreement I had been sold a few days prior, and was told the part is covered, but not the labor. So after paying the second tech what amounted to $500 an hour, we finally had a working **. In all, I had to pay $2,400 to fix my 3 year old, $4,500 **. The reason I bought the new ** in the first place was so I wouldnt have to worry about the 12 year old TRANE that was causing minor problems. I wish the lemon law applied to HV**. Im 100% disabled veteran on a fixed income, so this unexpected cost really hit ** hard.Review from Al T

WARNING: ********** is no longer a ************ owned/operated company. They are now part of a large holding group whose home office is in ********. RECOMMEND: Use a locally owned and operated ** company that best understands the ** needs of ************ residents.Review from Jennifer O

I was a little concerned about using Waychoffs because of the BBB reviews but their local (Jacksonville) reviews on Google and yelp were good so I gave them a shot. Jason and his team did a great job with the install. I negotiated and got a good deal with upgraded equipment. I'm happy with the warranties and product.Review from Ursula H

Our home had a new ****** system installed on September 27th, 2019 for the amount of $4,449.21. The work was completed as contracted and the unit performed well. However, the following issues took place over a short period of time:June 18th, 2021 - Low voltage short repair $153 plus $89 dispatch fee.April 24th, 2022 - Installed new thermostat (warranty Honeywell pro 8K) $251 plus $89 dispatch fee.May 5th, 2022 - Bad capacitor (warranty DPFEC) replaced $152 plus $89 dispatch fee.March 18th, 2023 - low voltage short, diagnostics, replaced contactor, replaced thermostat $415 and dispatch fee was waved due to technician rescheduling from 17th appointment.(This is a total of almost $1,000 not including the dispatch fees, 25% of the total cost of the unit on repairs on a 3.5 year old system.) Confused about the quality of the equipment we have installed. Our prior unit lasted for almost 20 years with only a few minor issues. When it eventually needed replacing it was mostly component efficiency and price of upkeep that prompted us to purchase the new heat pump and air handler from you. The individual component failure and wiring issues causing low voltage shorts are outside of the expected parameters of the equipment. The average home ac unit capacitor and thermostat have a performance expectancy of ***** years when installed new. Impossible to get a response from anyone at that company.Review from Allen H

If I could give a ZERO star I would. STAY FAR AWAY! Tech did NOT know his **** from hole in the ground. Said freon NOT low. Checked unit and said needed to replace capacitor so we did. NO CHANGE IN A/C afterward!! Called another company out - unit was 1 pound low in freon!! Either the ******** tech didn't know what he was doing re checking the freon, or he intentionally let the freon out so they would be called back out to add it!!Now they want us to wait "24 business hours" for a call back! NO WAY!! Owner is getting a letter and a lawsuit if necessary!! Malicious tampering with my unit will NOT be allowed! AND - they sold us on their service membership/warranty - gonna get that $$ back for sure!!!!!!Review from Shawn B

December 6 Call ******** and explained I have a unit that needs power and refrigeration. The receptionist said we can come out today because its slow. When the tech arrived, he said he could not do anything to my unit until it is completely hooked up. And charged me $86.00 for the visit. I told the tech that I explain everything to the receptionist. He said, they are just teenagers and dont know our procures.March 19, @ **** Tech visit: I explained to the tech, that my unit is doing the same thing it has done since your first visit (on number four(4) now). He said, I checked the unit and it appears not to be leaking, but if I service it and its low again, it will require a full leak check. It will cost you money today if you want my service. He left saying I can't service your unit. The same technician from December 6.March 19, **** *************** Called to Cailin (female), at (904) xxx-xxxx. Explained my grief with the service and would like to talk to your V.P. **** (general mtg). She said, she would pass on my statement and he should call me on Monday. So far, $445 dollars and still no AC from your Waychoffs Air Conditioning company.March 20, 3:30 Texted ******** on Facebook:Need help... my AC unit is freezing over again. Tried going through your company, but they said you were off the weekend. Are you available Monday? The last service individual wanted to just add more refrigeration. $$$$$ when does it end.
