I am writing a review for First Florida Credit Union at ********** in ************, **. Ive been helping my sister to sell a property that she owns, and set up a savings account to put the proceeds into. My sister has many challenges in life and, my parents have helped her until they passed, so I have stepped in.I filled out an application for her online to open an account and was told that it would take 72 hours to approve. They suggested she come in person to speed the process.When she got there and tried to explain what she wanted, she became very confused and unable to explain what her needs were. She asked if she could call her sister who helps her with business and life decisions, as shes not able to handle that on her own.When she called me, I could hear the representative in a extremely ***** voice telling her to hang up the phone and that she would not speak to me, and that my sister would have to explain what she was needing herself..I tried to call the credit union and speak to this woman to explain that I helped my sister with any type of matters that she could not mentally understand. They refused to connect me to her or a supervisor. My sister was told that they thought she was a scammer and they would not open an account.I called the corporate office and asked to speak to a supervisor. They told me that there was no one available and that they would have someone call me back. I never received a phone call from the corporate office or from the branch. My sister left there shaken, emotionally disturbed and feeling totally incompetent. I am asking for an apology from this company as well as a five dollar filing fee that was paid with the application. After my sister walked out of the door, she went to a different credit union that had the professional training and compassion to help her.
