Additional Notes

Complaint: I brought my car to Smith's Auto Service because the car was shutting off when I am driving it.I left the car with Smith's Auto service for them to check to see what the problem is and to receive and estimate of what it would cost to fix it. After they checked the car , they called me back and claimed that a part in the distribution cap was broken and that was the cause of the car shutting off. I asked the representative if he was sure that indeed that was problem, he assured me that he has a guy who works on Honda's and he was positive. Thus I went ahead and gave him the permission to fix the car. To my disbelief while driving the car it started shutting off again. I was shocked and was in disbelief that the problem was not fixed. Thus I called Smith's Auto and notified them of the problem, which they informed me to bring it in. After the car was brought in, a few hours later I received a phone call stating that they figured out what was wrong with the car. He claimed that the ignition switch was the problem and by moving the key it would cause the car to turn off. Then he proceeded to explain to me that it would cost me $150 to fix. So I asked him how does that make any sense as he instructed me before when I bring in the car if its a fault on their side he will fix it. I logically tried to explain to him that he did not fix the car correctly before due to his ill diagnostics. I went even further to explain to him in very simple terms if I brought the car to you because it was turning off when driving. Then you return it to be claiming that you fixed it, and after you fix it the car is still turning off then obviously what you did before was not related to the problem. I asked him what he fixed the first time I paid him and he tried to use fancy terminology and claimed performance issue. He refuses to fix the car and admit that he did not diagnose the problem correctly the first time and thus did not fix the problem.

Desired Settlement: I would love for the real problem is affecting my car to be fixed without me paying any extra money. Because I payed them the first time and clearly they did not fix the car so it is not my problem.

Business Response: I have replaced the ignition switch on the car @ our expense & the customer has picked up the car!
