Complaint: This was the absolute worst treatment I have received in over 40 years of taking my cars to various dealerships.My experience: I had purchased a certificate on one of the daily deal sites for "Only $50 for $150 Complete Detail at Mercedes Benz of Gainesville". The certificate contains absolutely no expiration date and describes the merchant as "Mercedes Benz of Gainesville **** * **** ****** ************ ** *****".I visited this dealership in advance to make an appointment for the detailing and had absolutely no problem receiving an appointment. The staff knew I had a certificate.On the day of the appointment, when the vehicle was dropped off to be detailed along with the service request I had received when making the appointment, I was then informed by service staff that the certificate would not be honored; and if I wanted, I could pay the full price for detailing, less the $50 value of the certificate. There is no way I am paying an inflated price for detailing my vehicle when so many other places offer detailing services in Gainesville. I contracted with the daily deal site for $50 for $150 of detailing. Being informed by the dealership that the cost to detail is now $190 +, I offered to pay the additional cost ($40 +) of the detailing since the certificate was obtained, but was told "No". Needless to say, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone due to the treatment I received and having gone to expense of visiting the dealership twice. This dealership does not honor its commitments. The certificate has absolutely no expiration date and there was no posted notice at the dealership that Mercedes Benz will not honor this certificate which was legitimately purchased on a daily deal site.

Desired Settlement: Would prefer this dealership to honor its commitment.

We looked into the issue that Mr. ********* brought to our attention and found that the service advisor had the understanding that all of these daily deals for the Detail Services had expired back in 2012, when in fact, there was actually one set that was mistakenly offered without an expiration date.  After reviewing Mr. *********'s certificate it has been found that he has one of the certificates without an expiration date.  We contacted Mr. ********* and made arrangements for his wife to drop off the vehicle Wed June 4 2014 and we will transfer her to work and back and complete the detail as per the "deal".  Mr. ********* expressed to me he was satisfied with our resolution at this point.  We also reviewed the daily deal program, and fact there is one without an expiration date, with all customer touch employee's in the service department so we do not have this happen again

Mercedes Benz of Gainesville went above and beyond what I was hoping to be done to resolve this issue.  My compliments and thanks to them for being such a responsible and caring company.
