When pests get pesky, be careful which pest control business you choose, Jeannette Kopko of BBB in Dallas told Doug Magditch of CW33-TV, Dallas - Fort Worth. Some pest control "experts" are really just scammers.

“Make sure you’re dealing with an established business that’s licensed,” said Jeannette Kopko with the Better Business Bureau serving Dallas and Northeast Texas.

Don't hire somebody who’s just going around door-to-door, looking for customers. Be wary of a ‘free inspection’ from a door-to-door offer.

“Then they claim you have an infestation you might not really have,” said Kopko.

It starts out as something where you think it’s free, but it ends up costing you a lot of money in the long run.

“It’s important to get more than one bid, too, because pest control can be expensive,” said Kopko.
