Following a week of service, I was able to pickup my car with a ***** cost for parts and service.
TWO DAYS later the car failed again and was again towed back to Beach Auto. This time I was advised the battery was dead and needed replacement. Another three days and a bill for ***** I got the car.
I then left town for two weeks and the car was not driven. However, a DAY AFTER I returned and started driving the car, it failed again to start. I called Beach Auto and advised them AGAIN of the same issue that we'd experienced all along. However, I had the vehicle towed to my former garage in Chesapeake, VA.
To our surprise, many things were learned about the "repairs" at Beach Ready Auto:
- The Starter, though charged for a new one, was actually a rebuilt model
- the oil gasket and change was NOT done
- The Intercooler Pipe, providing airflow to the turbo, had to be removed for access to the starter. this 3" plastic piping was broken and "Gorilla Glue" used to attempt to repair the break. The Mounting clip was not on the pipe and nowhere to be found.
While I've paid almost ***** to Beach Ready Auto , the true needed part for my car was an CAS Module; an electronic sensor located between the ignition, battery and starter. If the garage had the BMW certified computer as they advised me, they would have known this at the first diagnosis.
I have a full receipt of the repairs done by the for the CAS Module and they are willing to make a statement regarding the fraudulent services I was billed for at Beach Ready Auto. Additionally, I have the broken, Gorilla Glue pipe that demonstrates their incompetence and flagrant lie in having the ability to properly diagnose and repair this vehicle.
I have contacted the *** *********** the *** Service Center, and will look to reverse charges for the services billed by Beach Ready. This is a blatant fraud and misrepresentation of services.

Mr you as well made a stated that our shop does not have the equipment to take care of or read codes for a BMW..this accusations is false sir. I personally own a diesel BMW 335D for years, many of my customers how come to us with their BMW know what work we can do. Even when we get things wrong as humans do we work until we make it right. I just put Beach Ready Auto's scanner to my personal BMW and I was able to scan my CAS Module if it had a problem. So yes sir we have the right equipment and you are more then welcome to stop by in my shop so I can show you if you have personal doubts.Your statement of you being charged for a new stater when it was a remanufactured one is false sir... you where charged for a remanufactured starter for ******* with a two year warranty. A new starter from our personal distributor costs ******* and it takes two to four days for the parts distributor to get it to our shop. You had spoken to our service writer at the front desk that you needed the vehicle so this is why sir the remanufactured starter was order for you as it was in stock and you where never charged the new starter price. After some time we heared from you that you had taken your vehicle back to your personal technician in VA. We received a call from you that our tech had broken your intercooler pipe and had expoxyed the broken piece of plastic together. Mr ******* this is where as a shop we failed you sir, and for that I apologize. The intercooler pipe has to come off to be able to replace the starter in your vehicle. During this time the intercooler pipe broke...this happens some times when removing it do to brittle old plastic...we should have made you aware of it sir and ordered you a new one. Our tech did not make the floor manager aware of the plastic pipe being glued. As the owner my shop and staff are given sets of guidelines and standers to follow, clearly when it came to your vehicle's intercooler pipe we failed to do so. That is why we asked for info from your shop at VA to be able to pay for the part that was broken in our shop the intercooler pipe and to pay for the labor as well to replace it. Your personal tech at this time stated that your CAS module needed to be replaced that this is why your vehicle at times wont start. During that time false statement in regards to our shop's repairs where being made. As the owner I addressed this allegations with you sir personally and Mike your technician. As for the repairs that have been done by Beach Ready Auto, it needed to be completed in your vehicle. Mr after speaking to your Tech in VA Mike, we agreed what took place was like a domino affect...the starter's gear locking up made the CAS Module to go bad to the point it made an "intermediate issue."
The module does not show any codes as you have to physically test it and they rarely go bad. Mike your technician in VA stated that it took him three days to get the module to act up and give him signs of an issue present. Mr ******* my apologies as to what took place here in my shop with my tech braking the intercooler plastic pipe, this is why I fully paid for your new part to be installed in your vehicle. I take full responsibility and please be assured that this type of situation will never happen again. I hope you find theses action satisfactory and up to expectations. At this time I fully stand with the repairs that your vehicle needed when it came to Beach ready Auto Repair... replacing the starter due to gear locking up, oil pan gasket for leak, and new battery due to dead cell..all repairs have been addressed that where needed at that time. Sir if you had called us before putting this statement on social media we would have addressed it all and made things right before you just as we just did.
