Consumers have filed complaints with BBB alleging that the furniture they purchased from Coleman Furniture was delivered damaged, defective, or of poor quality, so that repairs were needed almost immediately. Some consumers reported that Coleman representatives told them that repairs can be done for an additional fee. Many of the consumers who requested a refund instead of repairs said that company representatives told them that any refund would be reduced by a 25% restocking fee. Several consumers reported that Coleman only offers two options for defective products: to pay for repair or get a refund minus a restocking fee.

The company has provided BBB with the following response: One of the major issues that the BBB presented in the past with our company was that customer would be responsible for costs of hiring a repair person if they find an damage issue right after delivery partner leaves. In addition to providing better packaging then in the past, and inspecting items better, we are hiring at our own costs, furniture medics to go to customer homes in case of an issue - customer is not required to lay out the funds for this.
