      My credit score is roughly 775. Havent been late on a payment in 20 years for anything. One credit card to my name. Let me acknowledge my error also - I didnt notice the adjustment rate after 12 months. It adjusted from 5% to *****%!!!!!! I have a balance of $27k (I used it for points on some bathroom renos). I had the card for two years and kept a balance of around $300.00 so didnt notice the %. At this point, I am paying $1500-2000 a month and the balance barely moves. I call nicely to ask for rate adjustment Im told sorry although this rate seems very high we cant offer you anything at this time. I can pay it but it will HURT and NO REASONABLE PERSON would think the rate would adjust to a loan shark rate! 30%!!! How is this legal?!!! I feel for those who would NEVER be able to get this down and are literally trapped. Absolute BS! The credit card companies are absolutely preying upon people in this economy (Im speaking for all, not so much my circumstance as I should have read the fine print). I tried a balance transfer and they say u have three inquiries this year so we cant.. FYI i had inquiries for a car which I never bought! So I chose to wait and not take a loan and it is held against me. Again - credit and credit cards r a huge indentured servant RACKET.

      Very disappointed in AMEX. I have been a member since 2003 and the ***************** after asking a very simple question, was unable to give me an answer. Its unfathomable how people can do a job but know nothing about what they are doing. This is a basic training issue and for a company of that size its unacceptable!My card, unfortunately was just renewed for its yearly fee, however next March I will no longer be a member of AMEX.

      Worst company ever with the worst customer service ever! They would not lower my interest rate when I turned when I signed up with a credit management company and when I cancelled my credit cards with them they stopped my auto payments so that I would have to pay late fees and so that it would affect my credit and they would not reverse the fees and damage to my credit even though I caught it a few days after they didnt take my auto pay out! They kept giving me the run around when I called to find out why they cancelled my auto pay and kept me on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get this straightened out! Terrible company! I will never give them another chance!

      American Express sent me an offer for ****** bonus Delta SkyMiles if I add an additional cardmember between 2/1 and 12/31. But when I did that, they refused to give me the bonus miles. I raised a complaint with their customer service team and they resolved it without any action. And I am a 30+ year customer of theirs.

      I am waiting to file a complaint but they are an awful company to deal with. My brother is a Veteran and after spending 2 terms in ******** during the war he now has lung cancer and is in ************* I have his ***************** and am his VA Fiduciary. I paid off all of his bills in December including American Express. American Express has been charging his account to pay for an Amazon Prime account that he has not used in over 2 years. I contacted Amazon and they will not assist me because I do not know the log in to my brother's account. Again my brother is too ill to give me any information. I contacted AmEx and cancelled the card and put a stop on it. I informed them not to take any more funds from his account. I sent the *** to a TX address. After doing all of this they once again took money out of his account for Amazon. When I contacted them again to stop funds coming out of his account they told me they did not have the ***. After hours on the phone with them they found it and said they would not accept it because it was not notarized (which it is). I tried to file a fraud complaint with them and was told because I did not reside at his address I couldn't file one. AmEx will not assist me with any information on the Amazon Account. Amazon says it is an AmEx and not their issue. I have spent days trying to get to someone at AmEx to get this issue resolved without success. I will be forced to hire an attorney to go after them for the funds lost from his account and the fee I had to pay to block AmEx from taking any more money from his account.

      They did not have my account statement correct. Then when they were telling me the numbers and I pointed out that the math was wrong being reflected on my statement the associate I was taking to became rude and short. As well as they do not help customers with lowering interest rates.

      American Express has fraudulently deducted money from my account for credit card bills that are not due for 30+ days. American Express **************** literally just laughs at this and is zero help. I'm at a loss for words.

      American Express decided to help themselves to an additional $5000 on top of the$5000 payment I authorized. I have been on the phone with them multiple times each day and have not been given my money back!!! I will be closing down all of my accounts (3) with them as soon as this is resolved. The deceit is unfathomable. *** been told the mo ey would be immediately returned, returned in 2 days, 5 days, 7 days, 12 days. I will never ever do business with American Express again. Consumers be aware of this type of fraud.

      I was an American Express Customer for 5+ years. During the Pandemic, I was unable to find a job. I contacted them to let them know I would not be able to make payments and was told I would not be charged late fees. Lo and Behold after the Pandemic there was over 700 dollars in late fees on the card and I was sent to collections. Since then I have tried to settle the over 900 dollar debt I should not have and they have been scamming me. 3 payments were charged. 3 payments were funded. One was returned despite sufficient funds on the account so they could null my pay off agreement and scam me out of the 700+ extra (illegal fees). **************** is a joke. Tried to argue with me that they called (they didn't). I reached out to check on the account and make sure it was closed a month later. They proceeded to argue with me about the payments and demand my bank statements. Worst company ever!!! They are scammers and thieves!! Avoid this card at all costs.

      I have a Amex CD, the year long term was up 12/23 I called them 1/24 to inform them not to renew and they were going to return my funds to my checking account. I've since called them 2-3 times and now it's nearly mid-March and I'm still waiting. One call I was informed the return of funds was being "reviewed" and then "they're still working on it" and my last call customer service reached out to a supervisor and I was informed that the funds would be transfered to my checking account
