Complaint: My friend and I signed up for personal training sessions at this gym. We signed up with one of the managers of the department. We spent over 30mins trying to negotiate lower price for personal training sessions. At the end of that discussion he told us that since we were signing up together we could get a discount. He said this discount was 17 personal training sessions for a total of $282 and we would be able to share these sessions under 1 contract. He drew up the contract which I blindly signed because he just verbally told me what i was signing for. A month later I realized he actually signed us up for 25 sessions for a total of $1125. In the contract we actually did not get a discount, we are paying the full price of $45 per session which we repeatedly told him we could not afford. He never told us the $282 would be monthly payments for a total of $1125. I contacted one of the managers of the gym who told me we had to pay the whole amount. We only did 12 sessions and I offered to pay just for those however as per the contract we have to pay the whole amount because this is what we signed up for.
Desired Settlement: We are cancelling our gym memberships and do not want to finish the sessions however given that we did use 12 sessions we just want to pay for that and not have to pay the whole amount. We do not want this business to ever contact us again.
