Complaint: As a gym, Astoria Sports Complex (ASC) should be well-ventilated and AIR CONDITIONED upon opening - not an hour or two after it opens. Especially in this current heat wave, the gym should be well under what presently may be over 80 or even 85 degrees with humidity all around. Some of the daily clients, including myself, have been unable to perform our usual workout routines due to the unacceptable temperature. We might as well run outside, which is cooler than the gym in the morning. I've already approached time and time again the employees to resolve the issue, such as by installing a timer with the air conditioner. If we're going to pay for its services, ASC should be required to do exactly that and service us in appropriate temperature.
Desired Settlement: to have Astoria Sports Complex make sure to have its facility at an acceptable temperature and level of humidity during its entire hours of operations - meaning when it opens at 6 a.m. weekdays, it should already be cool enough to work out in

Complaint: Hello, During the summer months it is very hot/humid outside. The gym in the morning currently has no air conditioning. To my understanding, the a/c is working since I do not see signs posted around the gym indicating otherwise. I was informed that the a/c is on a "timer" and turns on prior to the gym opening at 6am however, I find this impossible to believe becuase it is very hot (no air circulating) when I arrive at 6am. I notice the a/c begins circulating around 7:30am as I'm walking out . My peers have called and complained with personelle of the gym yet there has been no resolution to this matter. Last year, there was a fan by the treadmills and this helped elevate tremendously the heat until the a/c fully circulated through out the gym. This is fan is presently in the areobics rm, not being utilized by anyone in the am since areobic classes begin around 9/10am.
Desired Settlement: Please turn on the air conditioner earlier if in fact it is on a timer. If not, would you please allow for the members to utilize the fan in the treadmill section until the a/c circulates through out the gym. It is impossible to have an enjoyable workout without a/c. This is a great gym and I would hate for it to change simply for an issue which can be fixed easily. The staff is great, the machines are great. Thank you.
