Complaint: I hired Ponderosa Fence to install a new fence around my backyard property as my other fence was destroyed by Sandy. The work was completed on December **, 2012 for a total cost of $2700 (#1 grade 3/4 spruce). The price was negotiated from $2900 to $2700 with **** (salesman). In the beginning of May, I notice some of the pickets and support rails were splitting and that one gate needed to be adjusted. I called **** in the middle of May and he told me he would stop by and take a look. He called me a few weeks later and told me he stopped by saw everything I stated and also noticed that the other gate's post where the latch was attached was splitting and that needed to be replaced along with some additional pickets that he saw. Told me it would probably be ***** doing the repair work and I should hear back from him in regards to setting up a repair date but to give him a few weeks as they were going into their summer busy season. After not hearing anything by end of June, I called back beginning of July and asked for ****. ***** answered the phone and told me **** was not in the office he was out on a job. I explained everything to him but he stated that **** did not tell him anything about this and that he would need to speak to **** but that he would be back to me. I called back again on July **** spoke with ***** who told me to give him two weeks as most of the guys were working on a union job. I called back again on August **** after not hearing anything spoke to ***** again and was told I was scheduled for some time the week of August ****. I asked if he could give me the exact date so I could be home and he told me I did not need to be home. So here it is now August **** no one has shown up and I have not heard back from anyone. I left another message on Friday, August **** on ****'s phone and told them they have left me no choice but to contact the Better Business Bureau.
Desired Settlement: I would like to get this fence repaired. The fence is not even a year old yet and it should not be looking like this. Any help in getting this matter resolved would greatly be appreciated. I would like all defective pieces of this fence replaced (splitting pickets, gate that needs to be adjusted and the other gate's support post which is split).
