Complaint: We were given an estimate to repair chimney and replace liner after having multiple repairs completed on the said problems. When we had the repairs completed in the past, we were not charged because of it being within warranty. On the prior occasions we were not told of the extensive repairs needed in the recent estimate. The recent estimate explains that repairs to the chimney in the past were completed incorrectly and now must be done the correct way to avoid more problems and damage, which has a high price value.

Desired Settlement: I want the chimney to be fixed in the correct manner without being charged for the repairs, which should be under warranty.

Chimney King installed a stainless steel chimney liner for **** ********* on April **** 2009. One year later April **** 2010 Chimney King rebuilt the top 9 rows of the chimney and constructed a new cement crown. Chimney King was called again In September 2011 a year and 1/2, later because the furnace cement down by the boiler was cracking, we resealed the furnace cement at no cost to **** ********* as a courtesy. **** ********* called us 2 years later in May 2013 saying It looked like she had a leak by the pipe work Chimney King went to **** ********* house on May *** 2013 we looked at the situation and gave **** ********* a free estimate of the work that needed to be done, which included replacing the smoke pipe from the gas hot water heater and the boiler, we would also reseal the breech with furnace cement and clean the chimney for $235.00 plus tax we also recommended that she should grind out and tuck-point the bottom of her chimney and water proof it for $1650.00 plus tax. This work is all below the work that was done back in 2010. All of the work that was done in the past was completed correctly. There is nothing wrong with the liner or the brick work that was done 3 and 4 years ago.

They are not taking responsibility for there work with what they did.  There is a continuous leak because they did not fix the problem correctly or did enough of what they needed to with the Brick work to fix it completely.  I have water within the pipes because of this issue and they want me to pay.  They did not try to come up with a solution or offer any accommodations due to the problem I am experiencing since they tried to fix the problem.  They also always give free estimates when they come to the house.  They certainly don't want to resolve this problem.  If I have to go to court I won't have a choice.
