Complaint: I purchased a pair of Van Cleef & Arpels Earrings on 7/**/11 for $4600. I recently sent them to Van Cleef & Arpels for a repair and was informed that the earrings are counterfeit. Seller refused to refund my money in exchange for return of the counterfit earrings. Van Cleef & Arpel asked for the seller's information as well since it is a criminal act to sell counterfit goods.
Desired Settlement: Return the counterfit earrings for a full refund.
Business Response: The customer Called me on friday saying her earrings broke and she took them to VCA and they said they are fake. She bought them from 2 years ago. I have invoice of where i got them from. I do not know what earrings she took. I told her to send them back I will verify with van cleef and we will go from there. Then she started to threaten me so we hung up. I don't know if they were my earrings she took to van cleef and i told her that. She could of taken another pair. The she called ebay and she said she wanted to to get them cleaned at van cleef so who knows what pair of earring she took there. I have no problem taking care of this issue but earrings need to be sent back and i verify with vca and make sure they were my earrings she bought.

A RECEIPT DOES NOT PROVE THAT! I OFFERED HER FULL STORE CREDIT JUST TO DO THE RIGHT THING! I STILL DONT HAVE EARRINGS AND I DONT KNOW ANYTHING SHE TOLD ME SHE BROKE THEM, I EVER SOLD BROKEN EARRINGS!
Better Business Bureau:
The counterfeit Van Cleef & Arpels earrings in the Alhambra style were purchased from Antique Corner's Ebay store on 7/**/11 for $4600 as they were advertised as authentic Van Cleef & Arpel. When one of the earrings broke in February of 2013 I took them to the Van Cleef & Arpels store in Colorado to be repaired and they shipped them to their New York store. A few weeks later Van Cleef & Arpels informed me that the earrings are counterfeit and shipped them back to me at a cost of $75. I immediately called Mr. *********** to tell him that the earrings were counterfeit and his response was that since he could no longer get his money back he would not give me my money back. He said he would look into the matter and get back to me but he never got back to me. I then contacted the BBB for help. I have supplied all the documentation to the BBB and would like a refund. I had previously agreed to exchange the counterfeit earrings for a genuine item but Mr. *********** never followed through in presenting me with exchange options even though he has claimed numerous times to have a huge inventory that I could choose from and that he would send me photos of some of his inventory. After weeks and weeks of waiting not a single photo or exchange option has been offered leading me to conclude that he did not intend to follow through on his offer. He most recently claimed that the BBB had found in his favor and thus closed the case.
In his defense Mr. *********** is claiming that after more than a year after I purchased the earrings from him I purchased counterfeit earrings that are exact replicas of what he sold me and brought them into the Van Cleef & Arpels store to be repaired and intentionally subjected myself to humiliation upon being told they are counterfeit. I strongly deny and reject Mr. ***********'s claim as false, slanderous and just plain ridiculous!!!! Mr. *********** has a history of selling counterfeit jewelry as documented in his Ebay store feedback which says he has been accused of selling counterfeit jewelry on numerous occasions as follows:
