            We made reservations for a group of 11 people - 7 rooms total - to stay at the Magnolia Mansion, *********** for 6 nights on April *****, 2023. The reservation was made on 11/2/22 and was paid in full, a total of $2,668. On 3/9/23, we received an email stating that our reservation was cancelled, which was not initiated by us. We were then informed by email that there was a mechanical issue making the hotel uninhabitable so they were forced to cancel our reservation. On 3/10/23, we received another email stating that we will receive a refund within 3-5 business days. We still have not received a refund and have reached out to the Magnolia Mansion numerous times since with zero response. Their ****** status now says "permanently closed".

            Booked in January, paid in full by march 16th for April 12th check in. Arrived to find gates chained and had gotten confirmation from host for arrival three days prior, April 9th. Their website said they had been closed since March 9th and no communication from host at all regarding closure. It was French Quarter Festival weekend and hotels were at premium prices and limited availability. We were stuck without a place to stay, at night, two states from home. Neighborhood was heavily gang tagged and homeless tent cities were everywhere. Air BnB helped get cancellation but we were out the money for days and still had to find a place to sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE! After everything host still has not apologized for problems. Ended up paying nearly 2X as much for a hotel in the city. They do not care about their guests and the neighborhood was loud and scary. Nothing like they advertised. Spend the extra and go someplace else reputable. After our letdown and experience we posted a review and found MANY others with equal horror stories about this establishment. We used AirBnb.com and they have removed this establishment from their site after following up with our experience. If we could leave a negative star review we certainly would have. Beware of this establishment and their business practices!
