On November 14, 2023, I received an invoice from XRANM dated 11/1/23. It claimed that I owed $154.68 from two ER visits over a year earlier (10/6 and 10/7/22). At 8:40 AM on 11/14/23, I called XRANM ************** and spoke to *******. I asked to apply for financial assistance with the bill. He verified my address and said he would send an assistance application through the mail. To be certain that I understood, I asked again before hanging up that the document I would receive would be an application for financial assistance. ******* confirmed that that was correct. Instead of the promised application, however, I received an undated copy of the same bill, printed on a different background. On January 5, 2024, I received an invoice dated 1/1/24 threatening to send my account to a collection agency. I find it highly suspect that it would take more than a year for XRANM to decide that I owed them money. My suspicions were heightened with the false promise of an assistance application. I find XRANM's legitimacy dubious, and I would like to report that this may be a scam.
