On 12/31/2022 I walked into Midtown NM Spots and Wellness looking for a 6 month membership due to I am schedule to have major surgery in July. I wanted to purchase a 6 month family membership for the total amount of $1066.73 withdrawn from my checking account on 12/31/2022. The staff member that attended me ******** *** *********** assure me that my request of 6 month membership only was going to be put in place and that an electronic agreement was going to be sent along with the contract. I received the agreement and signed it( no stipulations were included )., I never received the contract. 2 weeks ago on 6/19/23, 6/20/23 and 6/21/23 I called to ask about the 6 month contract ending, was really hard to get someone on the phone and when i did the staff member re-assure me my membership was ending on 6/30/23. On July 2nd 2023 I had a withdrawal from Midtown Sports and Wellness for the amount of $189.72 for the membership for July. I called Midtown sports and wellness many times trying to resolve the situation, finally i spoke with someone **** ********** and She gave me the corporate phone number, told me She could not help me and sent me the membership cancellation letter via e-mail, at this time i requested a contract which I did not received until 7/5/2023, left a message at the corporate office on 4/3/2023, they return my call on 7/5/2023 and the person that called did not give me Her number and was rude and condescending, hang up on me and did sent me the contract. I called my bank and summited a dispute for the $189.72 that they withdrew without my consent and for this company never to have access to my bank account, since i am having surgery and would not be able to go to the gym. What was supposed to be a stress free experience trying to gain health before surgery turned into a nightmare!
