I contacted Electrical Services about installing an EV charger. I made multiple requests for an estimate but never received one. The day before the installation, I contacted the office again and again asked for an estimate. They finally had someone call me back and he said he couldnt get me a written estimate in time for the install but that the job should be 2-3 hours plus electrical hardware and wire. I knew their hourly rate so I agreed to proceed with the appointment. The technician arrived and completed the installation in 2.5 hours and then cleaned up for about ***** minutes. I was prepared to pay the technician at that time but he was unable to provide me with an invoice or a total for the work. He said that he would have the office **** me. Well today (more than 2 weeks later) I received that invoice and it included 4 hours of labor. I erroneously assumed it was an honest mistake and contacted their office. I was told that they charge additional labor as a trip charge to cover: my man for his time and my overhead, which includes gas, insurance, staff in my office plus many other costs to run this business. Dont make the same mistake I did. The work quality was good but dont proceed unless you get an estimate inclusive of any charges you will be asked to pay above and beyond the labor and materials actually involved in your job.
