Authentic Southwest Windows and Doors (ASWD) quoted us to supply and install replacement front doors for our ******** property. We paid a $4500 deposit and were told to expect to wait about 8 weeks for the doors to be delivered, finished and prepared for installation. When the due date arrived ASWD told us the doors had arrived damaged and were immediately sent back to the manufacturer.For several months ASWD blamed the door manufacturer for continued delays. When we suggested using an alternate manufacturer ASWD told us the doors were now ready for delivery. More delays followed with ASWD blaming the manufacturer for shipping problems.Eventually ASWD said the doors had arrived and they had all the hardware and materials on hand ready to install. We would get a call in 2 weeks to schedule the job.Many weeks later, when the install still hadn't been scheduled we asked ASWD to return our deposit. We heard nothing more from them and so we started legal proceedings. ASWD's response to a demand letter served by our lawyers was continued delays. They even promised delivery of a certified check to the law office, but didn't turn up. The lawyers are now escalating to the courts and so far we have filed reports with NM CID, FTC, the Office of the Governor and here at BBB.We have discovered that ASWD never ordered the doors from the manufacturer. We were told they hadn't done business with ASWD since 2019. We believe ASWD stole our deposit and never had any intention of delivering. We have also confirmed that NM CID have no record of a license for ASWD.This business is operating without a license and fraudulently took our deposit with no intention of honoring the contract. The website is misleading. Dealing with ASWD, we found we could only ever speak to the owner. He never answered the phone, but would respond to messages 24 hours later. He never left messages himself and we never got email, text or anything in writing after the initial contract..
