The Hacienda De Chimayo is the hotel portion of the Rancho De Chimayo. The website is deceiving. The place, is nothing like the photos on the website. In fact, judging by the mold, thick dust on fixtures, the smell of smoke and mildew, and the lovely stick that said "use this to disconnect the fire alarm" I would recommend the place be shut down. We paid $128 for one night in the run down hotel. No AC, no TV, no radio and the **** password that was there, didn't work as the place did not have the **** turned on. The yard was a dried up mess of old dead plants, they didn't even bother to pick up the apples that had fallen, now rotting in the yard by the tree. Room. Sheets old, yellow faded stains, and were frayed. Baseboards were missing leaving gaps where the wall met the floor. Mold in the shower/bath. And a sponge bathmat, which was gross to think I would be stepping on an object that can't be properly cleaned. We did not shower. There was a hole in the ceiling where a light fixture had been. Thick, old dust coated the ceiling fan, which wobbled bad when running. Thought it would fall. Towels were hard from years of over use, also very faded. Room chairs, frayed, in desperate need of new fabric. The smell, a mix of cigarette, mold, mildew, dust and years of fire place usage. Obvious the smoke of the fire place sets off fire alarm as they have a stick telling you to use it to disarm the alarm. Staff was rude. Disappeared after check in, because I so wanted to leave, but I had paid money for the dump. Breakfast was a joke. Fruit was rubbery, should have been tossed, not served to guests. ****** had been left out and recooled, so it was runny/water on top. Muffin was a ****** style, heated up. Only good part of the breakfast. DO NOT STAY HERE. It is not only a dump, but due to the mold and dust, a health hazard. Only thing that saved me during the night from smelling the place, the skunk that walked by, thank you skunk.
