Travel Company Allegedly Goes Out of Business, Leaving Consumers Stranded

Bloomfield, New Jersey-based Club ABC Tours-Crown Travel Service has allegedly gone out of business, leaving consumers stranded. The business offered travel tours to destinations such as China, Italy, Morocco and Spain.

On October 3, 2012, the BBB received numerous calls from concerned consumers who had booked tours with the company and are reporting cancelled tours or non-responsiveness by the company to any inquiries.

The BBB contacted the business by phone on October 3 and a voice recording claimed that messages would be returned within one hour. BBB also emailed Club ABC Tours for a status of operations, but we have not received a response.

After reaching out to Club ABC Tours’ travel insurance company, BBB learned that Club ABC Tours allegedly ceased operations on October 1, 2012 and that unfortunately, travel insurance purchased through Club ABC Tours does not provide for refunds in the event Club ABC ceases operations.

Travelers who may have purchased insurance through an outside company can contact the insurance agent to see if they are entitled to a refund.

Consumers who pre-paid their travel arrangements by credit card should contact their credit card company and alert them about the status of Club ABC operations.
