I purchased a home in May 2021 that was previously waterproofed by A-1 Basement Solutions. Our house flooded during Hurricane *** in Sept 2021. Since then, I've had a slow leak coming from the french drain that A-1 installed in my basement. I first called A-1 about this matter on Tue, Nov. 30th and got no answer. I also submitted a contact form on their website about the issue and tried calling several times again through Thu, Dec 2nd, still no answers or call backs. On Fri, Dec 3rd, Dough Lynch, the owner at A-1 called me back thinking I was a new customer inquiring about new service. He kindly told me someone would be able to come out, free of charge, right away to assess the damage. As soon as I told **** that it was a service call, he completely changed his demeanor and became very short with me, saying someone will reach out. **** called back an hour later and told me that it was my responsibility to transfer the guarantee from the old owner's name to my name within 30 days of buying the house, which I didn't do, because I didn't know about the guarantee or who did the work when I bought the house. Not to mention, their website says NOTHING about this. It says, "A-1 offers a Life-of-the-House Guarantee. This ensures that once the home is repaired, the warranty for work performed stays with the home regardless of who owns it." **** then assured me the work they did was fine and the other waterproofing company told me it needed to be fixed so they can get my business. But that doesn't add up because the other waterproofing company suggested I call A-1 as they should guarantee their work, in order to try and save me from spending more money. A-1 Basement Solutions was short, dismissive, showed absolutely no empathy for our situation, and were downright rude and completely unhelpful. Im hoping to get them to guarantee their work like they say they do and fix it so I can finally move back into my home.
