Ashely Blunk – 2014 Winner in Metro Omaha and Southwest Iowa

Ashely Blunk is a 2014 graduate from Papillion - La Vista South High School in Papillion, NE.

"Ashley has demonstrated great maturity and responsibility. Her friendly demeanor and personable skills make her a wonderful leader,” said Phil Tackett, Papillion Police Department.

Ashely will attend Concordia University and major in Business Administration with an emphasis in Logistics.

Lauren Wehrle – 2014 Winner in Metro Omaha and Southwest Iowa

Lauren Wehrle graduated from Millard North High School in Omaha, NE in the spring of 2014.

"Ms. Wehrle's communication skills are tremendous. Her level of integrity and respect for others is above reproach. She is one of the highest ranking students in our academy, yet humility is of the utmost importance to her. It takes tremendous courage and hard work to achieve the level of success that she has attained. Preparation is the key, and Ms. Wehrle is always prepared to step up whenever needed," said Michael Baluch, 6th Degree Black Belt Master of the Omaha Tiger Rock Academy.

In the fall, Lauren will attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha in Omaha, NE. She will be majoring Physical Therapy.

Julie Slama   2014 Winner in Metro Lincoln/Greater Nebraska

Julie Slama of Peru, NE was a 2014 graduate from Auburn High School in Auburn, NE. 

"Julie is hard-working, honest, reliable, and gets along well with others. I know with Julie, the job will always get done right," said Ben Adams, Elementary Teacher for Auburn Public Schools. 

Next year Julie will major in Ethics, Politics and Economics at Yale University. After obtaining her undergraduate degree she plans to pursue and M.B.A and then a J.D.

Karen Huynh - 2014 Winner in Metro Lincoln/Greater Nebraska

Karen Huynh graduated from Hastings Senior High School in Hastings, NE. 

"Karen is so intelligent and so talented with an envious work ethic. She has the determination to succeed in anything she does," said Delta Fajardo-Norton, Hastings High School Debate Coach. 

This fall, Karen will attend Stanford University and major in Human Biology. She plans to attend graduate school at Stanford University School of Medicine after achieving her undergraduate degree.

Cullen Knowles - 2014 Winner in South Dakota

Cullen Knowles attended Rapid City Central High School in Rapid City, SD. 

"Cullen's discipline academically is remarkable. he has taken on challenges in his schedule, including a full array of AP courses, and excelled with his playing of the viola, earning All-State orchestra honors and other local recognition for his talents," said Geoffrey Sheehy, teacher at Rapid City Central High School.   

Cullen will attend Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. There, he plans to study the sciences of chemistry, biology and physics.

Shantel Ramlo - 2014 Winner in South Dakota

Shantel Ramlo was a 2014 graduate of Brookings High School in Brookings, South Dakota. 

"Whatever Shantel decides to do in life, she possesses the skills to attempt its mastery, and it is not unreasonable to assume that her skill set will be even more impressive as she continue her education at the collegiate level," said Richard Ganci, English Instructor, Brookings High School.

Next school year, Shantel is attending the College of Engineering at Cornell University, where she will obtain a degree in Engineering.

Kaelyn Thierolf - 2014 Winner in The Kansas Plains

A 2014 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, KS, Kaelyn Thierolf looks forward to become a Jayhawk at the University of Kansas in the fall. 

"The commitment and dedication that Kaelyn has shown up to this point in her life is matched by very few, if any, in her class. She puts forth the effort needed to ensure success," said Mark Felvus, counselor at Marion High School. 

Kaelyn plans to study psychology in hope of becoming a clinical psychologist. She will also be a member of the Jayhawk rowing team.

MacKenzie Suderman - 2014 Winner in The Kansas Plains


MacKenzie Suderman was a 2014 graduate of Moundridge High School in Moundridge, KS. 

"MacKenzie Suderman exemplifies what you are looking for in a future leader. She already displays strong leadership skills, and has shown that potential since I began working with her in 4th grade. She leads with integrity and a gentle demeanor. She leads by example and has always pursued academic excellence," said Cara Craig, a teacher at Moundridge High School.

This fall, MacKenzie will major in Pre-Dentistry with the option of either pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene or attending Dental School. She will also be a member of the woman's basketball team.
