We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your feedback on your experience living within an HOA managed by our team. You and 39 other members are part of a townhome association. You own the unit within the building you live in and collectively own all of the property outside of your unit. With that being said the association is responsible for the upkeep of each building, and maintenance of the grounds. You pay a monthly assessment to tackle the standard expenses, and will from time to time pay special assessments for projects within the community. Specifics rules and regulations on your community are shared in the HOA portal which you have access to. There are four board members who currently serve your community. Your board of directors makes decisions for the community as a group. Byers & Harvey takes direction from the board for the day to day management of the HOA. You had mentioned that you are unable to receive emails or communication, but unfortunately you have marked all of our emailed communications as spam. I have an attachment that I have shared here that shows each email is sent back as spam for the past year, I also have a snapshot of the annual summary letter that we sent out to each of the homeowners explaining what the assessment was for and why there was an increase on fees. This is all decided by the board going into each year. Invoices are shared on the portal that you have access to for transparency. Lastly you mentioned a fee for a trash can. The board at the beginning of the year let all community members know via email that all trash cans needed to be stored in either the garage or behind the unit. Everyone was given at minimum a 30 day notice for this. Unfortunately at this time you were vocal about not storing your can or moving it, which is why we reverted to our violation and dues collection policy ( this is also shared in the portal ). Lastly I just wanted to remind you that Byers & Harvey takes their direction from the board of directors, any concerns or suggestions are always shared to them to allow them to make informed decisions in the future.
