10/27/2014Problems with Product / Service | Read Complaint Details

Estimate given to re-plumb entire house/two bathrooms were not finished. Also, a leak occurred in finished work and we were charged for the repair.
In February/March 2012, The Service Guyz replaced all of our house plumbing, except for two bathrooms. The repair required extensive removal of a tub, toilet, vanity/mirror, etc. in order to get to the plumbing for the two bathrooms. We were informed we could call them once we had prepared the bathroom and were ready to have them return to complete the repair.

NOTE: We were told the water pipes were warrantied to expand up to 3 times their size without bursting/leaking.

Meanwhile, we received and paid the bill for $1,750.00.

We called them in November, 2012 to ask for the completion of the repair and were told someone would call us back. No one returned our call. We (both ***** and *****) continued to call them repeatedly through April 2013. The person answering the phone always took our name and number and at times, stated we were "on the radar", but no one EVER called back.

On Saturday, August 23, 2014 we discovered a leak in their new plumbing. Called them on Monday, August 25, 2014, talked with **** and she mentioned "we haven't heard from you in awhile". ***** said "that's because you haven't finished my two bathrooms and we called repeatedly to schedule this." She said we were "on the radar".

They came out and repaired an original line they installed.

NOTE: We mentioned to the repairman we still had plumbing that needed to be completed and even showed him the bathroom. He said we needed to call the office to schedule that.

The third week of September, 2014 we received a bill (in the amount of $175.00) for the most recent repair - and this should have been "warranty work" based on our understanding of the original statement by them that the water pipes were guaranteed not to leak.

We can provide pictures of the old polybutalene piping sticking out of the torn apart bathroom floor and wall.

Desired Settlement
Completion of the original work (replacement of the water pipe in the two bathrooms) and no charge for the repair of the pipe that should have been under warranty.

Regarding this complaint, I have had conversation and visit with the customer. We are not going to charge him for the repair done in September and will complete the work originally bid to and paid my the customer. Because of the two year span since the first call from the customer, there was obviously a breakdown in communication. We are not a company who does not keep their promises or commitments. We are not sure where the miscommunication occurred last year, but are willing to make this right for the customer. He will be taken care of by the end of the month
