    I had a brake light on ABS issue with my car, I was told one particular mechanic was great at diagnosing problems, waited a week to bring the car in for him to look at it, was told the case may have to be opened with Toyota to figure it out Explained very clearly every step of the way I did not want parts replaced that were not needed, only wanted find the exact problem and fix that, I was called a few days later and told the brake booster and master cylinder were replaced, $1,545.00 but that did not fix the problem, Then the case was opened with a Toyota technician with the mechanic, Toyota found out I had a grounding issue under the front bumper with the wiring, I was then told that was approximately $600 to fix that issue, I explained to the service manager did not think I should have to pay for the brake booster and master cylinder that were replaced because it did not do anything to fix the problem, After explaining I think the orginal brake booster , master cylinder should be reinstalled on the car, I was told after paying the mechanic to put original back on, it would nearly be the same price in labor to do that, as to leaving the new parts installed There was nothing I could do to get a resolution I had to pay over $2,100 to get my car back I don't think I owed the 1545.00 for parts not needed at all My wife went to pick up the car and said she would like to test drive it to make sure it's okay The service writer ask a manager if that was all right, he said yes but someone would have to ride with her to make sure she doesn't take off! The whole reason for taking it to the dealer was to only replace what was needed, I don't feel that that is what happened I tried to contact ******* **** the manager of Toyota, with absolutely no response at all.

    On our initial visit to Cumberland Toyota we met with a sales rep who was was very pleasant and seemingly very honest. He told us up front that the dealership will add $2000 on top of MSRP on any Highlander. Also told us up front that there would be an additional $2000 added if we paid cash. We didn’t like these additional costs but thought his honesty was refreshing for a dealership. Then the finance department took over and honesty left the building. I’ll start with the running board we asked for but did not come with the car from the factory. We asked the finance guy to add a running board. He quoted a price of $1459.70. Not knowing the price of a RB we said ok. We found out later by accident that the parts department sells the RB for $499. So they charged $1000 for the install. WOW. Afterwards we called around and found several other dealers offering them for around $800 installed. Next came the loan interest rates. They they offered us a ridiculously high interest rate. Then offered us a respectable interest rate only if we purchased the overpriced, “Holiday Sale”, extended warranty! Lastly they spelled my wife’s name wrong on all paperwork. When we asked them to change it the finance guy assured us if we signed the papers with the wrong name the actual papers being sent out would have the correct name. They did not. All I have to say is Buyers Beware.

    First, the name was originally spelled wrong on the paperwork, but that has been corrected through the county court clerk's office. Our apology. 2nd; the salesperson (Josh) did quote the running boards and got approval from the customer prior to them being installed. When calling other dealers for pricing, be specfic. On Hybrid models (as this one is) the install involves around 6 hours of labor. Also make sure they are not pricing the difference of factory installed (less expensive to get it factory installed), versus dealer installed. We are sorry the customer is upset with the price, but everything was disclosed (and approved by the customer) prior to the sale (including the price of the running boards & installation).

    First, thanks for correcting the name with the county clerk. However, the name with the financial institution was still incorrect. Second, I was very specific about the running boards being for a 2024 Highlander HYBRID when requesting quotes and no they were not quoting the difference. Did you know the running boards part number is the same for a Highlander as well as the Highlander Hybrid and that the install instructions make no mention of extra steps for a Hybrid? Yes, I agreed to the price before doing any research, so, my bad. I should have done my homework. I just expected to be treated respect and fairness. Again, buyer beware!
