Complaint I originally put a 1000 deposit down on a car before arrival and then the dealer refunded. Gentlemans agreement/first right of refusal wasnt honored. As a porsche enthusiast who owns a rare ***** gt3rs , a orange gt3rs and even a transsyberia, I was made aware that a rare black 918 spyder edition porsche turbo s was on its way in soon(the next 4months) *****(sales guy) suggested I put $1000 down on the car to COMMIT and ensure delivery of the car. I did and was told that it would be November or December. Within a few days ****** states that ****(the general manager) would not take a deposit on a speculative car that is not here yet. So they refunded my money. At this point 5 people know I want the car: ****(gen mgr), *****(sales guy), *** (sales guy) and ******(service manager) and even **************** Technician) ***** calls me Sepetmber 28 in the afternoon to state the car has come in. He makes ni sense of urgency to me that the car would not be mine to have first right of refusal. I state to him later that day that I can come down mid day the next day. He states that he will not be there but *** will be there to meet me. I arrive at the specified time to find the car "sold". A happy go lucky sales guy , **** ******* states "yep I sold it to a lady came in a little while ago to buy it for her father".
All I can say is this is a ****** way of doing business. Where is the trust? YOU HAD MY WORD!!!! This is what you expect from a lame used car lot, not a PORSCHE DEALER. I have spent close to 20k in service in the last 45 days and still have a car in the service bay.
I will spread the word to the porsche community and they completely lost MY TRUST!!!!!Hello ********* and hello *** *****.
Desired Settlement Get the car back that I had the deposit down on and grant me first right of refusal. It was not a car to be bought until I had the right to see it.
Business Response I have attempted to reach ******* ******** and understand that he is traveling outside of the country. I would like to speak with him before responding. My understanding is that we offered him the chance to leave a non-refundable deposit if he would commit to purchasing the vehicle and he refused. We do not take conditional deposits, especially for a very fast moving, high demand vehicle.
Complaint Car went to service dept for air conditioning repair and when picked up the suspension is broken On September 20th,2013 I dropped off my Audi A8 for problems with the a.c. The problem was, when I turned the A/C it the fan still worked but had no cold air. The compressor has been replaced prior to this service call. ***** called the 21st stating they could not pinpoint the issue. He suggested replacing the A/C filter using "a metal one." I was then told the suspension had quit working. I asked what had been done to my car and he replied, "I looked at it funny." When my car was ready for pick up, ***** stated that the suspension had fixed itself. I then proceeded to drive the car to Cool Springs (where I work). While driving, I noticed the suspension light had come on and was flashing red. The car drove very bumpy. I had to proceed very slow. When I got to work, I noticed the car was barely off the ground. I called the service department again. They suggested having it towed to their dealership using their recommended towing service. I agreed this was the best solution. Since then I have received an estimate for repair totaling $7457.37. I just want my vehicle back in the condition it was when first dropped off for service. The car is not even worth the totaled amount of estimate. The car is still at the service department and is immobile.
Desired Settlement car repaired and returned in full working order like itwas when dropped off, with a full working suspension system.
Business Response I have spoken with ***** *************** and discussed what happened. I regret the circumstance and the strain that the situation has put on his relationship with us. Unfortunately, while his vehicle was in for the A/C repair, we also noted a pre-existing issue with the air suspension. Initially, the suspension malfunction was intermittent; however, we voiced to ****** *************** that it would likely get worse. We did not provide an estimate for repairs at that time per Mrs. ***************'s request.
At the time that Mr. *************** returned and picked the vehicle up, the air suspension was holding air; however, after driving it, it became apparent that the suspension issue would have to be addressed. I have investigated the failure of the suspension and am confident that it is not the result of any damage to the vehicle caused by us or by the towing company. The failure is a result of natural wear to the suspension over time.
As a gesture of goodwill, I have offered to assist the *** ************ with the purchase of a replacemnet vehcile should they decide not to repair their current car. In the interim, Mr. *************** is planning on having their vehicle towed elsewhere.
Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) After two trips to the service department the AC is still cutting out at will . And the air suspension was repaired at less than half of the quoted price . There was no known air suspension problem with this car until it had sat there for five days Offering us a deal on a new car was not what we felt a reasonable resolution . We have repaired our car now and will not use this dealership again . We have incidentally bought new cars and had service done there for over 10 years . We gave the dealership every chance to remedy this before filling a complaint . This is the first time we have ever had to do this . I would this a dealership providing premium cars would provide premium service . Thanks
