I brought a mens solid gold bracelet in on Sept 10, 2014 for repair. There was one little thing wrong with it.
She told me it was 17.3grams of gold and 14K with the jeweler eye glass.
She said to call in two days. It wasn't ready. They didn't even call me to pick it up. My son picked it up. When he brought it home I realized it is not the one that I brought in.
I brought it to the woman I bought if from and she said "this is not the bracelet I sold you.""
What I got back is gold plated and not even the same carat. It was not the same bracelet.
The police said this is a civil matter and they can't handle it.
When I went to speak with him he threatened me with his attorney.
I would like the original bracelet back.
This complaint is untrue, unwarranted, and an obvious attempt to extort something for nothing. I am shocked and disappointed that anyone would even suggest that we at ******* Jewelers would think of doing anything unethical. We are extremely community minded and our mission statement is to serve the interest of our customers by conducting business each day governed by an awareness that our companys most precious asset is it's customers. By maintaining our company's 25 years tradition of excellence, both in the quality of its offerings, as well as the integrity of its reputation. We provide a level of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our customers. In short, by offering a shopping experience in which our customers, and their needs are our highest priority. Our flawless track record with you and others for 25 plus years speaks volumes as to the lack of validity of this one isolated complaint.
The person who has lodged this complaint along with their family has been in our place of business on numerous occassions prior to this incident. They would come into the store and spend lengthy visits, not to make a purchase, but to ask questions about numerous things that they already had purchased elsewhere. They would want to know if the items were real and what their values should be.Then they would want to sell me some of the items. After months of this I had to make it clear that I was not in the market for the sort of things that they continued to bring in and try to sell. Perhaps it was then that they became offended and this false complaint is somehow in retaliation. I truely do not know their motivation as to make such an untrue alligation. If they did not like or trust us, then why did they continue to come in to pick our brain about their other jewelry. Remember these pieces and the bracelet in question did not come from our store. We do not even carry that sort of item. It was purchased somewhere else. It was only in our possession to repair a break in the bracelet. The break was likely caused by excessive wear and the bracelet itself not being a solid and quality item. Our store manager who has over 15 years of jewelry experience took the bracelet in for repair. It was examined and determined to be a semi hollow piece in 10k gold, a figaro bracelet, NOT 14k. This was discussed with the person who left it for repair and indicated and clearly written up as such on repair order # XXXXX. The individual then signed the repair ticket saying it was 10k, and it was indeed marked 10k. They were then given a copy of their signed agreement. We kept the original top white copy and the customer got the yellow copy. The signed agreement states the description and value of articles listed above are correct to the best of my knowledge. In accepting said articles it is understood that ******* Jewelers is not responsible for identification or condition of jewelry at time of receipt and any damage or loss will be limited to the actual cost to repair or replace the item and not to exceed the value stated. When no value is listed as is this case, it will be assumed that the value is less than $75.00. This receipt must be presented to pick up articles. The yellow receipt was presented to pick up and accepted as is and the bracelet taken away from these premises. We have no control after it leaves the store. We have the signed receipts when dropped off and when picked up as well. At this point they have accepted their bracelet and ok'd the repair as well.It was another day that they suddenly decided it was not their bracelet and made such a scene in the store demanding I give them a better bracelet. I assure you as I tryed to assure them, they picked up the very same bracelet that they left us for repair.Nothing more, nothing less. We never have and never will take a customers jewelry item. This would go against everything we have worked so hard to create and stand for in principal. If you need a copy of repair ticket #XXXXX signed and dated as their acceptance to the item being the same one they left, it is available to you.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and allowing me to prove this complaint is completely false and without merit.
******* Diamond Jewelers
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is true we sold ******* Diamond's gemstones it is not offense or retaliation the bracelet I took in was14kt.I had purchased it five days prior from another business. I looked over it thoroughly even with a gem magnifier I was distracted talking with his wife when I signed the 10kt receipt five minutes prior she had stated to me the bracelet was 14kt gold when I looked on the ticket I called and told them it was a mistake that my bracelet was 14kt I sent my son to pick up the bracelet when I called and they said it was ready I stated then on the ticket it was a mistake they said it was so simple of a fix it would be one day it ended up being several he simply picked it up and signed for it we had no idea it was the wrong bracelet that ******* Diamond's was giving back to us I have now found out this has been a common complaint with this business I am not the only victim of these practices.I have the receipt from the business that I purchased the 14 K bracelet from stating that the bracelet I purchased from them was 14kt. I am positive the bracelet I took the ******* Diamond's was a 14 karat gold 17 gram bracelet but the bracelet I received back was a 10kt gold completely different bracelet all I wanted from ******* Diamond's was the bracelet back that I took into his establishment depending on what happens with the Better Business Bureau if it is not resolved on this level I will report it to the attorney's general of North Carolina consumer division.
Final Business Response
I am getting out of a sick bed from recent surgery to again respond to a ridiculous and completely false complaint.
I stick to and stand behind my original response which shows without a doubt the item was not purchased here. That it was brought in for repair only. That the repair ticket was written up properly by a manager that has 15 years of jewelry experence as a 10k item and not 14k. And that it was approved and signed off as such by the individual to that fact.
She claims to have a receipt from some other store that she purchased a 14k item from them. That is fine but the item brought to us for repair was 10k. I can take a regular sport coat to the dry cleaners. I can then go back to the cleaners and demand they give me a tuxedo. I can even have a receipt for a tuxedo. But the cleaners only has the original sport coat because that is what was brought in.
The same is true here. I don't know and don't care what jewelry she has purchased from other stores. We can only return to her what she brought to us for repair. Her signed receipt clearly states it was 10k. Two of our eight camera's in the store even picked her up, recorded, and clearly shows her signing the receipt.
We have thousands of satisfied customers and I have been overwhelmed by the well wishes of so many hoping I make a speedy recovery from my illness.
Her remarks are very hurtful and mean spirited. It is sad that one person can be so mistaken, bitter, and completely wrong.
We know we did nothing wrong and continue our long standing record of excellence and customer service.

Final Consumer Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I know for a fact my bracelet was switched out by ******* Diamond's establishment and at this point it seems I will have to take a lose I hope if this happens to anyone else dealing with his establishment that they will report it.I took one bracelet in came out with a completely different low grade and different karat bracelet. It seems it is my word against theirs but there is someone who seen and knows it all and the judge of it all he will ultimately be the judge between us.This has nothing to do with bitterness or revenge this is only about business and the fact that they blatantly took something from me and THOUGHT that would be the end of the issue hopefully this will keep this from happening to someone else who deals with this establishment.
