BBB regularly reviews a company’s file to monitor complaint activity and review files for a pattern of complaints from an industry standpoint.
At this time, BBB is seeing both a high volume of complaints in the file and patterns within those complaints. Specifically, we noticed complaints from customers stating they are receiving "Driver Update" and a "Fix-It" program messages without it being ordered, which has resulted in computer locking up and email errors stating "McAfee Security issued a warning not to trust your site". "Windows Defender" failed, soon other programs started failing with messages of "driver issues" and corrupt registries. In addition, customers state they've had difficulty reaching customer service staff for technical assistance, and incorrect charges have been made to bank and credit card accounts as well as unauthorized charges for product that was not ordered.

Slimware Utilities was provided data around the volume and nature of complaints from a period of 2013 through 2016 which equaled a total of 34 complaints.
Based on conversation, due to business confidentiality reasons, Slimware cannot share exact details of sales volumes, but states the number of transactions our business conducts each month is in the magnitude of tens of thousands. While the 9 complaints received year to date represent our complaint level is trending up, the infinitesimal volume as a percentage of sales means that any seeming trends and the complaint rate is statistically insignificant. This, coupled with the fact that Slimware’s business is growing, means that Slimware does not believe there is cause for serious concern in the number of complaints received.
