The United Way of Northeast Mississippi is proud to serve Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Prentiss, Tishomingo, Pontotoc and Union counties.

The Funding Process

Funding request are received and reviewed for accuracy.  Community volunteers are trained & divided into panels with 3-5 agencies assigned.  Community volunteers visit their agencies to see programs and services in action.  Community volunteers conduct agency interviews & ask about funding request, budgets, board makeup, etc.  Volunteers review funding request and make recommendations to the United Way Board of Directors.  Agencies receive funding.

Fundraising Methods

United Way serving Northeast Mississippi is a local nonprofit organization directed by volunteers. A fundraising campaign is conducted each fall to raise the money needed to support United Way member health and human service agencies. United Way brings individuals together in a community-wide effort to help people. 64 local nonprofit member agencies/programs will receive funding in 2010. The use of these funds is closely monitored to guarantee that they are used for the specific services intended. The services focus on: ·Strengthening Children and Families ·Improving Education ·Promoting Health and Wellness ·Providing Community and Emergency Assistance ·Increasing Housing and Employment
