The mission of Pine Burr Area Council #304 BSA is to foster the character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness of young people and in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling values based on those found in the Scout Oath and Law.
Tiger Cubs - Serves boys in First Grade. Boys learn new skills in partnership with an adult family member. They follow the motto "Search, Discover, Share," working together on home-based projects and on a monthly event with other Tiger Cubs and adults. Cub Scouts - Serves boys in Second through Fifth Grade. Program is family and neighborhood-centered. Cubs work on advancement awards with their families and attend weekly meetings of their dens led by volunteer leaders. Monthly pack meetings are held bringing together several dens and families for fun activities and recognition Ceremonies. Boy Scouts - Serves boys Sixth through Twelfth grades. Provides camping, outdoor activities and a challenging advancement program that helps develop self-confidence, leadership skills, and introduces young men to more than 100 different hobby and career choices. They gain experience at weekly meetings. Scout-led adult supervised meetings and monthly camping activities. Venturing - Serves young men and women ages 14-20 years of age. The program emphasizes team leadership, life skills development, outdoor and high adventure activity, and other areas of interest to Crew members. Camp Tiak - Pine Burr Area Council's 1,200 acre camping facility located in Wiggins, Mississippi. The camp is open year round and is host to a variety of Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venture activities. Camp Tiak features swimming, boating, rifle range, climbing tower, craft center and hiking trails. Cub Scout Day Camps - Designed as a week long summer activity for boys in the Cub Scout program. Pine Burr Area Council offers Day Camp programs in 9 seperate locations within our 17 county territory. The Learning for Life Program is a character building program for girls and boys that was developed for the school system grades K-8.
