DREAM Center Tutoring & Enrichment Program Mondays Thursdays
Program that provides after-school programming for students K-12 needing supervision with homework and classroom assignments. Volunteers provide 1 on 1 tutoring and mentoring. A drug abuse prevention component is provided. Parent involvement is designed to enhance parent (caretaker) skills in being an advocate for their child's educational environment.
Youth Leadership Development provides training and leadership opportunities for youth engaged in promoting drug-free choices.
Underage Drinking Prevention includes community awareness, parent education, peer influence, youth leadership development training and merchant awareness.
Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws include community awareness, social marketing, classroom education, and youth leadership development training.
Regional Drug Abuse Prevention Resource Center provides print and media materials and resources for community members engaged in drug abuse prevention activities. Training and technical assistance is available for peer helpers, drug-free workplace, schools, parent groups, the faith community etc. Topics include, but not limited to, parenting; alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention; prescription drug abuse, underage drinking prevention; suicide prevention; drinking and driving prevention; violence and bullying prevention.
DREAM Community Planning Coalition serving the Hattiesburg region to prevent and reduce underage use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in the communities within Forrest and Lamar Counties. Over 50 members represent the segments and demographics of the community for planning and program implementation. This group also serves as the advisory committee for DREAM Board of Directors.
Youth Suicide Prevention supports media campaigns to reduce underage drinking. Media designs created by youth include billboards, print messages, radio, PSAs, stickers, and mass transit benches.
Support of National Prevention Campaigns: Alcohol Awareness, Red Ribbon Campaign, DUI Awareness, FAS Awareness, Night Out Against Crime and Drugs, etc.
Drug-free Youth Groups provide alternative activities, positive environment and leadership development training for youth.
