January 21, 2010 – Saint Paul, MN – On Wednesday, February 3rd the Internal Revenue Service is sponsoring ‘Big Issues for Small Businesses,’ an event for small businesses in Fargo, in conjunction with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Minnesota and North Dakota, OSHA and the SBA. The event is free and will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Room 319 of the Federal Building. Reservations are required.
Here’s a list of the topics the different agencies will be covering:
- The Small Business Administration has had significant program changes under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). In their presentation, the SBA will highlight these changes in how they’re able to provide financing for startup and established businesses, as well as how to take advantage of contract opportunities and access technical assistance to help you secure financing and expand your market.
- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will make compliance assistance resources available and cover enforcement priorities and how to prepare for an inspection.
- The Internal Revenue Service will provide tax tips for business and discuss the first-time homebuyer credit and energy credits.
- The BBB of Minnesota and North Dakota will teach businesses how to protect themselves from scam artists and fraudulent offers.
