Advertising Review Internship

Attention College Students: Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota is offering an internship for an advertising/marketing/communications (or related) student to work in our Advertising Review department. Interested students must have a keen interest in promoting ethics in the marketplace and be assertive, positive and be inquisitive by nature.

Title: Advertising Review Intern
Dates: 12 week Internship
Hours: 12 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

Duties: Duties are selected based on the individual intern’s capabilities, talents and interest areas. The BBB provides a list of possible projects and the intern will have choices in which tasks they will pursue. Within the project, duties are likely to be in the areas of:

  • Industry review and research
  • Participation in investigations and secret-shoppings
  • Active engagement in the advertising review program
  • Contact development/relationship building
  • Promotion and enhancement planning for department services and events

Interns can expect to be given:

  • Substantive, challenging and rewarding choices for projects
  • A copy of projects completed for the BBB for use in their portfolio

Desired Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior in college with position-related major
  • Interest in marketplace issues and promoting ethical business practices
  • Aptitude with computer and phone skills

Special Events Internship

Attention College Students: The BBB Institute for Marketplace Ethics (IME) is the 501(c)3 charitable educational foundation of BBB and is offering an internship for a college student to assist with various IME and Outreach events and programs. Interested students must have a keen interest in promoting ethics in the marketplace and be assertive, positive and have the ability to work collaboratively with a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities.

Title: Special Events Intern
Dates: 12 week Internship
Hours: 12 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

Duties: The intern will assist our Special Events Coordinator with projects such as:

  • Research logistics for possible fraud event in spring/summer
  • Assist with Torch Awards for Ethics
  • Promotion and support of Accredited Business events
  • Distribute Senior Outreach materials to city and county law enforcement
  • Organize Military Outreach curriculum material and contact organizations to solicit programs

Desired Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior in college with a strong interest in non-profit management, event planning and education foundation work
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude with computer and phone skills

Service Learning

The BBB welcomes Service Learning students for approximately 40 hours of work in the BBB educational foundation, the BBB Institute for Marketplace Ethics. Service Learning students can choose to assist with our Center for Character Ethics or our Center for Fraud Prevention. This opportunity is open throughout the year/ongoing.
