As part of a larger national BBB Secure Your ID Day effort, area residents and businesses are encouraged to shred and properly dispose of their sensitive paper documents free of charge at two half-day events (held annually in April and October). There are several locations in our local markets: Fargo, Jamestown and Bismarck in North Dakota and the Twin Cities in Minnesota.
The public and business community are invited to bring up to two boxes or bags of documents to be shredded. Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders, but staples are okay.

Recap of the 2014 Shred Events
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Spring and Fall Secure Your ID Day events! The events were very successful, and provided consumers a great way to protect their identities.
Along with our Twin Cities' partner, US Federal Credit Union (at their locations in Bloomington, Burnsville, Fridley, Lakeville and Shakopee), we were able to recycle 59,798 pounds of material. This equates to 508 trees and 209,293 gallons of water saved!
In North Dakota, working with AARP-ND, we were able to recycle over 43,257 pounds of material in Fargo, Jamestown and Bismarck.
