Donations from individuals, companies and organizations to the BBB Institute for Marketplace Ethics – a 501 (c) 3 organization – support a variety of educational outreach events, tools and resources for at-risk consumer groups such as seniors, military personnel, families and veterans, as well as character and ethics trainings, tools and resources for businesses, and current and future workforce. Some of the key educational programs from the BBB Institute for Marketplace Ethics include:
BBB Senior Program - BBB's Senior Program travels throughout our service area to talk to provide education, tools and resources to senior citizens and senior caregivers helping them increase financial literacy, make wise purchasing decisions, and avoid and report fraud and scams.
BBB Military Line® Program - Supported by an established national network with a century of expertise in marketplace knowledge, the BBB Military Line® Program improves financial readiness and consumer education for service members, their families, and the military community.
BBB Center for Character Ethics - Designed with customized resources for our current and future workforce, the BBB Center for Character Ethics serves business and community leaders and educators as a provider of research, training, and best practice recognition in character and business ethics through a working collaboration of experts and practitioners.

In addition to the above services, the Better Business Bureau also has operated the BBB Institute for Marketplace Ethics, an educational foundation 501(c) 3 tax-exempt organization. Founded in 1977, the BBB Institute for Marketplace Ethics mission is to provide consumer and public education on business ethics, exposing sub-standard marketplace behavior, and warning consumers, especially seniors and youth about prevalent marketplace scams.
