Hello-On 6/20/22 I received a bid from All Star Basements for installing drain tile in my basement as I was having some seepage from the foundation. On 6/28/22 they had a team of guys come to my house and dig up some of my foundation and install their drain tile system and a sump pump, I paid them $6,470 for this service. During the demo, the guys broke my in floor heating ducts in 3 different places. They told me that they could patch it, and they proceeded to cut up some of their advertising signs, put the signs over the crack, and poured cement over them. I was not given the option to pause construction and have legitimate repairs made. The work seemed adequate until 4/3/23, when I noticed water in my heat ducts. I called All Star for recommendations or assistance to ensure their "waterproofing solution" worked correctly. In speaking with ****, he told me that they were not responsible for any damage to the heating duct. He offered the solution of drilling holes in the bottom of the heat duct at each vent so the water could drain. He drilled holes in my heating duct, which did not drain the water.I got a few estimates from other HVAC businesses, and learned that the only way to fix the problem is to fill in the in floor duct with cement, and install new ducts in my walls, at a cost of $2,520. I asked **** to open up a claim on All **************** to cover this cost, and he told me that the wording of their contract needed to be updated. I told **** that I am concerned that his team performed a shoddy "repair" on my duct that is not within their scope, and he told me that he would talk to his boss.I would like assurance that the recommended repair will be covered under their insurance, and I would hope that their team receives training to work within their scope of licensing. I am including photos of the water issue before and 1 week after **** drilled holes in the duct.
