Complaint
This plumber charged us full price twice, totaling $707.00 in less then a year and 1/2's time to fix the same faucet.
Lehtola Plumbing was hired to fix a leaky faucet in June 2011 and charged us $350.75 (expensive to begin with) and by Nov, 2012 it was leaking again! I called him back, he told me he was going to send the faucet into ***** for inspection and warranty coverage. ***** came back and said they weren't going to cover it because it had been tampered with and the wrong aerator was installed! Well we certainly didn't tamper with it or install the wrong aerator, we don't even know what an aerator is, so it had to have been him, the plumber himself that did this wrong, but he went ahead and had installed another new faucet and charged us another $356.25!I honestly don't believe we owe this second amount when he installed the first one improperly!!!

Desired Settlement
We want him to stop billing us for the second faucet ($356.25), and not to expect this payment from us!!!

It is unfortunate that this simple service call has escalated to this. Lehtola Plumbing & Heating was called to replace a leaking kitchen faucet. *** properties agreed upon the amount of a new kitchen faucet installation, in their rental unit. Lehtola Plumbing & Heating installed a new ***** kitchen faucet and was paid for this service in June 2011. Seventeen months later, *** called to report the faucet had started to leak. Willing to go above and beyond my one year warranty that comes with installation, I agreed to install another faucet for the rental unit, while the broken faucet was sent to ***** for inspection. *** agreed, no charge for this service if the faucet was indeed a manufactures defect and if not a 2nd service call / installation for faucet #2 would be charged. ***** reported that the faucet had been tampered with and a after market aerator had been installed, causing the faucet to leak. ***** sent the faucet back with a factory aerator installed. Being this is a Property Management Company I offered the faucet that ***** had repaired back to them to have as a back up for future use. The faucet was never installed incorrectly, the aerator was changed by others. The amount charged is for the new faucet and service call.

The only one that could have tampered with the aerator, or installed an "after market part" was the installer/plumber himself. We have never tried to take the faucet apart ourselves in any way, and have never installed any after market parts, we have no idea how to do this and quite honestly, why would we??? So we cannot/will not be held accountable for the price of installing another completely new faucet a year and a 1/2 later, when we believe the faucet was faulty prior to being installed in the first place!

Final Business Response
As was stated previously, it took a year and half for the faucet to start leaking. We were called because the faucet was leaking. How could we have caused this leak? The faucet was not faulty or installed incorrectly. The amount charged is for the new faucet and second service call.
