Complaint Reception Desk order was very misleading! Product was extremely poor quality and piece was cracked upon arrival! Our company ************* of Stuart purchased a reception desk from Modern Office. Due to this being an on-line purchase I had spoken to **** and ***** about the specific desk of interest. The details of the desk were "durable" and "great quality". This is far from the truth. The item # ***** arrival and was cracked and the desk was extremely poor quality. Spoke with ***** on the phone about the concern of the desk we purchased. ***** was very rude and unwilling to work with us. We want to return the desk and get a refund as this desk has absolutely no use for us due to such poor quality. The desk was supposed to go in our showroom and is in no shape or form acceptable to do so. The amount paid on our behalf for this desk was $4,197.00. This is a big chunk of change for such poor quality. The payment method was by credit card. Due to our dealership being under construction this desk has been sitting in the original box since the purchase date. (10/25/2013) Please note that the manufacturer has a 4-5 week process for shipping out. The picking ticket #is ******. Our company is looking for resolution in this matter. It's only fair for the company to accept their product back and refund us the money so we can buy a desk that is good quality. The only part of this desk that was "customized" was that our company needed an all white desk. Aside of that we purchased a standard size desk that was offered by the company. If the company advertises such good quality desks, than the company should be honest and deliver what they promise.
Desired Settlement We are seeking a full refund of the desk in the amount of $4,197.00 for the return of their product.
Business Response Order for an all white custom desk was placed October 25, 2013 and shipped to the customer on November 26, 2013. These desks are custom built to order in the color as specified by the customer. We have shipped thousands of custom desks of similar construction but in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and colors to professional offices, retail stores and car dealerships without incident. Since they are custom made we do not accept returns. The customer has now had the desk for over five months before reporting any issues. Although after this length of time we have no recourse with the carrier, we will produce and replace whatever component of the desk is needed at no charge to repair any shipping damage. The desk is warranted for any flaws or defects due to material or workmanship so if there are any particular issues with the desk we will certainly take care of this. This does not, however, include providing a new desk to fit the new layout of their showroom. Thank you.
