      I signed off on the spec they sent, but I failed to catch the type-o THEY made. But since I signed the spec I am now the owner of a $5K door that I cannot use. They would be happy to sell me another door that matches my original request for an additional $5K. I will not be doing any business with Scherer again. Perhaps they are different with contractors but no homeowner should ever do business with them directly.

      I paid for custom boards and have been trying for over a month to get them to email me a receipt and a sense of when the material. No one will get back to me even after leaving multiple voice messages to both the sales person and their main number. This is definitely not the Scherer Brothers from the past. Seriously, a month after paying and still no receipt or call back after multiple attempts? What gives?

      Oh My! That's not the type of service expected at Scherer ***** We are now a fourth-generation family-owned business with dedicated employees at every level. *********************** is the salesperson on order#*******. I spoke with ****, and shes disappointed to hear this went to the BBB. She said the respondent is a great customer to deal with and has been in person several times. **** did notify the customer via email once the product was completed and ready for pickup. Perhaps her email possibly went to the customer's junk folder? As for the multiple calls, our sales professional's recent phone logs just show the 8/10 and 8/23 communication. The logs didn't show any voicemails or missed calls beyond 8/23, except for a voicemail left on the same date as the above review. Our sales rep called the customer, left a voicemail, and sent a follow-up email to resolve the issue. We hope to earn your business in the future!

      After visiting Scherer Bros several times they have absolutely the worst customer service ever. The men at the desk at the Hopkins location cannot be bothered to answer a question or look up an item. They are more interest in turning you away and getting back to their computers or doing nothing . Leadership should be embarrassed. This is a failing company on all levels.

      We decided to work with Scherer Brothers to order straight edge single panel doors for our whole house remodel. We priced out molded doors with slight bevel at Home Depot but for the look we were going for - straight edge, shaker style - we were willing to pay more to get what we wanted. The Shearer Brothers vendor brochure photo LOOKS like it's a straight shaker style, especially when comparing it to other doors in the same brochure which show an obvious bevel in the panel. (We took pains to order straight edge baseboard and casing trim with the same Scherer Brothers salesperson. This was definitely a clear goal for the style of our home.) Sadly, 16 doors with a bevel were delivered today and both our salesperson and the manager told me they could not be returned because even though they were regular sized and "in stock", they were custom doors. Buyer beware. I have never felt so duped in all my experience working with a vendor. Clearly this was an ordering mistake on the part of our salesperson due to lack of product knowledge but the company would not make it right. The manager, Nicole, suggested I try to sell my house full of doors on ebay. Got cheap molded doors and paid a tremendous premium for them. Thumbs down on salesperson knowledge. Thumbs down on Customer Service. Would not recommend.

      For small accounts, lumber pricing bears no resemblance to reality. Sales staff are helpful if you can get them on the phone, but it's not worth the trouble. If you need help figuring out what to order, talk to your contractor, then buy from Menards or Home Depot.

      Thanks, I appreciate the offer. Feel free to reach out; you should have my contact info. This brings up a related issue I neglected to mention in my initial comment. Scherer created our initial quote in mid-late April 2021, but we didn't order the bulk of our framing lumber until mid-late July 2021, by which time prices for framing lumber had fallen significantly. Despite a verbal request for current pricing, we received April pricing on our entire order, adding a couple thousand dollars to the cost of our project.

      This is the absolute WORST company I have ever had to deal with. If I could rate 0 stars, I would have. Rude and un-professional sales people. Upper management is even worse. I can see why the people at the store level act the way they do. Their mistake on an order for me was met with a "too bad for you" attitude. Then I had to be the one to continually call to see if my order was coming or where it was. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Don't waste your time or energy!!!
