Better Business Bureau has received inquiries from people who have received official-looking letters from this company informing consumers they can get a copy of their property deed for a fee of $89. BBB is advising consumers to be aware that they generally don't need copies of their deed, and also that this company is charging homeowners, in some cases, more than 40 times the price consumers would pay if they were to purchase the same copies themselves at their county offices (copies of deeds generally cost $1 to $2 per page - with most deeds running no more than 1 to 2 pages). There are clear disclaimers at both the top and the bottom of the company's mailings to indicate they are not affiliated with the government or any county office. However, BBB believes some consumers may overlook those disclaimers.
