BBB Customer Review Rating plus BBB Rating Overview
BBB Customer Reviews Rating represents the customers opinions of the business. The Customer Review Rating is based on the number of positive, neutral and negative customer reviews posted that are calculated to produce a score.
|Customer Review Experience||Value|
|Positive Review||5 points per review|
|Neutral Review||3 points per review|
|Negative Review||1 point per review|
BBB letter grades represent the BBB's opinion of the business. The BBB grade is based on BBB file information about the business. In some cases, a business' grade may be lowered if the BBB does not have sufficient information about the business despite BBB requests for that information from the business.
BBB Letter Grade Scale
Star Rating scale
BBB Customer Review Rating plus BBB Rating is not a guarantee of a business' reliability or performance, and BBB recommends that consumers consider a business' BBB Rating and Customer Review Rating in addition to all other available information about the business. If the BBB Rating is NR then only Customer Reviews are used for the Star Rating.

Complaint: Me and my wife had a new L.P.furnace and a heat pump installed. The heat pump was wired incorrectly and caused it to use all the propane. 07/2015 Me and the wife had a new furnace and heat pump install that was wired incorrectly. That caused the furnace to use all the propane in our tank that uses 500 gallons. Total Comfort fixed the issue but now were stuck with a $800.00 propane bill that we refuse to pay for.
Desired Settlement: Total Comfort Should pay for a 800.00 propane bill that they refuse to pay for.
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2016/02/29) */ Total Comfort is a BBB A+ rated business, as well as a 8 time Angie's List Super Service Award winner. Total Comfort has a 9.9 satisfaction rating with the Home Depots "Voice of the Customer" rating system. We are quite disappointed to read this complaint. We really pride ourselves on our customer service and willingness to go above and beyond in most situations. Total Comfort has been working with this customer to resolve this issue for the last few weeks and we had come to what we thought was a very generous resolution. This customer is asking us to pay their propane bill from fall through the end of January including fees as a result of their failure to maintain proper propane levels in their tank. The propane consumption also included their domestic propane hot water heater and their propane furnace when the heat pump system would have been disabled during outdoor ambient conditions below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. If the heat pump functioned correctly from the fall through the end of January the customer would be responsible for the electric bill not Total Comfort. We determined the cost difference between operating the heat pump system -vs- the propane furnace is $190.00. Because of the customers inconvenience, we sent a check for more than twice that amount. We are happy and willing to resolve any issues that relate to our installation, but we will not pay their entire heating/domestic hot water bill for that time frame. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 17, 2016/03/11) */ The customer indicated that he/she ACCEPTED the business response.
