Read Complaint Details
Complaint: Poor post installation communication regarding state inspection process. Fireplace insert installed 10/14/13. Called company (10/15) after city inspection done (10/15)on installation and gas line work to arrange final install of fireplace surround trim piece. Call not returned. Called again on 10/17 mid AM with same concern. Call returned 10/18 at 745A with a message that final work scheduled for 10/21. Msg asked for a call back to confirm appt. I called back and the call taker took my number to have the scheduler call me back. Scheduler called back and asked if the electrical inspection had been done. I told her that the Ci of Edina had inspected the work (ED125144. She asked about the electrical inspection. I asked "What state inspection?" She said that a state electrical code inspector needed to also inspect the project but Practical Systems does not set up that inspection. She also said that the state inspector,*************, needed to be contacted before Practical Systems could complete the work. She then told me that **** only accepted calls between the hours of 700a-830a so I had to wait until Monday 10/21 to set up the final electrical. It turns out that Practical Systems HVAC & ************* (company that did the electrical work) are owned by the same person, *******
Desired Settlement: Written detail explanation from the owner of Practical Systems covering: Why phone calls weren't returned in a timely fashion. Why, if ****** owns both companies, Practical Systems & *************, can't handle the permitting and inspection process seamlessly. Include electrical information in a written form on either a separate form or be hand written on the CenterPoint form ******* (Gas fireplace/insert installation progress report.)
