Midwest Fence replaced our wooden privacy fence this past summer. I sent an e-mail to them 8/15/23 regarding complaints from our neighbors AND issues we had. I had attached photos of the shoddy workmanship. After several unanswered phone calls I sent a 2nd e-mail 12/2/23 asking why they never responded; and I've STILL not heard from them. Their workers left messes in the neighbors' yards as well as ours; candy wrappers, lunch bags & food scraps as well as wood scraps - I will likely have to replace plants for one of our neighbors and have already replaced mine that were trampled beyond the 3' clearance area from the fence. My husband and I had to reconstruct one of the gates and re-frame both gates due to HUGE gaps left that small children could get through. NONE of the nails in the frame were countersunk; most were sticking up & out 2 - 3" so we spent an entire afternoon hammering nails so the grandkids wouldn't be injured while playing in the yard.Review from Barbara B

Had Midwest Fence install a chain link fence on the property. They also helped coordinate a survey. Received great customer service from sales, to scheduling, to install and parts. Every person we dealt with at Midwest Fence were responsive, professional and courteous. Used them 25 years ago, used them for this project and would use them again and recommend them.Review from Loretta N

We had a black chain link fence installed 6 years ago. The bottom rail piece on one of the gates looks like an explosion happened inside leaving several splits in the metal. After 2 months of calling, they said they would repair it if we took the gate apart (wouldn’t this void the warranty?), and brought it into the shop for repair. They will come and get it but that will cost us $500.00. No typo, $500.00. We are elderly with health issues so I believe we were just told in essence that there is no warranty. So disappointed in the lack of customer service. Do not recommend this company to anyone.Review from Ryan B

Do not waste your time or money on Midwest Fence – take the time to inform yourself from reviews of past customers, not only on Google, but Yelp & BBB. The themes of total lack of customer service, never returning a call or email, blaming issues due to product/install on the consumer, and a total inability to stand behind their product & fix problems are 100% accurate in my opinion. We have experienced all of this in our time with Midwest Fence. We chose an aluminum fence as a low-maintenance option in Dec 2019. We specifically called during this time to get our fence installed as early in the Spring as possible – and were told that we would be part of the first group of crews going out to install. Spring rolls around and we begin to reach out (constantly) because you almost never receive follow-up from Midwest. We are spoken down to and told that there are 100s of people in line for install prior to us. I have no issue being flexible/patient, but do not like being lied to and deceived. At this point we mistakenly decided to proceed since our goal was to get this fence installed as early as possible – cutting ties and going with a different company would have meant waiting until late Summer/Fall to get a fence for our house. We had hoped that the fence would be installed, we could enjoy our yard & wouldn’t have to speak with them again. Fast-forward less than one year and our “low-maintenance” fence (black aluminum) is now totally covered in a white crust/build-up. We’ve had numerous people (irrigation crew, deck crew, neighbors, etc.) saying that they have never seen something like this on an aluminum fence. I contact Customer Care and am also told by THEM that they have never seen this before and that they will be reaching out to the manufacturer. They come to the conclusion that the fence will need to be replaced. I figure that works for me and glad it could be resolved. About a week later an “Operations Manager” for Midwest reaches out and wants to come look at the fence, this seems odd to me since I thought everything was already settled. He doesn’t even initially say what he is coming for – but comes and looks the fence over and proceeds to tell me that I must have sprayed something on the fence to cause this, it isn’t their problem, and I need to contact a cleaning service myself to get it fixed. He has no interest in having a real conversation about the issue, just continues to repeat that I must have sprayed something to cause this. I do contact a professional cleaning service (who again proceeds to tell me they have never seen something like this occurring on an aluminum fence). Their professional opinion was that it is hard-water mineral deposits, but couldn’t guarantee that they would even be able to remove it. I have care instructions from the Operations Manager at Midwest that state “On occasion you may want to spray your fence with a garden hose” for cleaning purposes, seems odd that I would be given this direction for cleaning and then told I am doing something that is making the fence look terrible. I emailed them the opinion and quote of the cleaning company two weeks ago to share all of this with them and ask if the fence was truly manufactured correctly and if this is the product that they are standing behind – to which I have had no response, of course. Now I have a “low-maintenance” fence that I thought was properly built for exterior use, but looks like an old piece of scrap metal every time is gets wet. With everyone that keeps letting me know that “they haven’t seen this happen before” or “the fence doesn’t look so good” I like to remind them that it was done by Midwest Fence. Take your hard-earned money and time and find a company that cares about doing what is best for you – it is NOT Midwest Fence.Review from Robin R

More than 10 years ago we had a black chain link fence installed by Midwest Fence. It has served well until this year we noticed that the coating was peeling on the top pipe in the gates. We contacted Midwest Fence and sent photos. They stood behind their fencing, came out promptly and replaced all three double gates. In a time when it seems that multiple calls through multiple layers of admin are required to solve a problem, this straightforward response by Midwest Fence was impressive.
