Large Driveway & sidewalk installed $17,165 Invoice #6573 Central State Masonry. Gary *********** owner. Communication was poor from the start. Many emails sent about down payment, signed contracts etc. Gary blamed ‘the wife’ who was helping him while he had a leg injury. We could understand the situation & continued with the process. Installation 6/21 & 22/2021. By the next morning a huge crack extending the entire section of the sidewalk appeared while it was still wet. Contacted Gary immediately with pictures & showed Rob, his employee while on the job. Gary said crack would be fixed & sealed. 10/6/2021 Gary was contacted again about the crack along with more chips & large chunks breaking off in our driveway. He said he would send someone out next day to fix & seal the areas. No one showed. We had washed & cleared the driveway for this. 5 days later when we weren’t home & driveway wasn’t clear someone shows unannounced. Contacted Gary after the repair asking for that section to be replaced. It was not completed satisfactorily. He told us “He was busy & sometimes he has to do things on the fly.” He also said, "Don't start being an *** if you want me to seal your driveway." Sealing the driveway twice was part of the contract Now because we have concerns he threatens to not finish the job & to accept poor quality product. He sent a copy of the contract we signed saying ‘hairline cracks may appear overtime’. Large chunks, not hairline cracks & pieces continue to break off of the driveway since installation. Gary will not respond to messages sent. We are very disappointed with his professionalism, language used, & follow through on the driveway & sidewalk that has many issues. The driveway continues to crack & pieces breaking off which will be an issue with Minnesota’s freezing & thawing temperatures. This expensive driveway will not last nor will the sidewalk. We asked to have the sidewalk replaced but feel it is much worse & need more compensation for this job.
