Complaint: Terminix bought out the company I originally used for pest control. They called me on 10/09/2013 to schedule a fall inspection and they sent a man named ***** ****. He went down into my basement for all of 2 minutes and somehow found a termite but could only show me the one, he immediately talked about baiting my house for $1200 and left did not look around my yard for any termite activity. I called another company to come for a second opinion and before I said anything the man asked me if the guys name was *****, supposedly he is known for lying to customers to get them to sign termite contracts since he works on commission. I have had second and third opinions since terminix initially came and no one can find any sign of termites or termites themselves. This is unprofessional on so many levels and I don't appreciate someone trying to take advantage of me or other homeowners. Product_Or_Service: Fall inspection Account_Number: *******
We spoke with Mrs. ******* regarding her letter about our termite inspection. ****** **** did find termite activity in the basement and presented our treatment option. He did not do a full exterior inspection because he was late for his next appointment. He felt that because he had already found activity that was enough information to give to the customer. She declined to treat for termites and he left. When Mrs. ******* called another company, it was a former Terminix employee that had been terminated for cause who evidently spoke poorly of ****** and Terminix without reason. This unfortunately is often the case with terminated employees that work for other termites companies. Mrs. ******* was satisfied after the conversation. Thank you.

Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I never said I declined termite treatment, I was told to call to set it up that it would be $1200 to bait and to call around to other companies but that terminix price would be the best, I said ok. I received a second and third opinion and neither found termite activity. If they were former terminix employees I had no knowledge of that. ****** never claimed he was late for another appointment, I told ***** that if that was the case than they should not being calling customers at 7 pm the night before to send their guy for "An annual fall inspection" the next day. ****** was here for all of 5 minutes, according to ***** he should have been here for at least 30 minutes. The two weeks after he was here no one from terminix felt the need to call and follow up on treatment if I did in fact have termites wouldn't they be concerned to treat? I didn't hear from anyone at terminix until yesterday after I had cancelled the contract a week prior and put a complaint in. If ****** truly feels there are termite activity I would love for him to come back and show me more than just the "one" he found.
Terminix manager, ***** ******** has attempted to contact Mrs. ******* since Tuesday 29th after hearing that the complaint was re-opened. He has left messages every day including today with his direct cell phone number for a return call. He will personally go to the home to do another inspection. After four days of multiple phone calls, he has not received a return call. Thank you.
Complaint: I signed a one year contract with Terminix for a mice problem. They are charging me $99 for an unauthorized service beyond my 1 year contract. I received a bill on 10/5 for "Exterior General Pest Control on 8/22/13." My contract ended on 8/1 and I did not sign a new contract. They had no right to be on my property, never mind do pest control that I did not agree to.

Complaint: I contracted with Terminix in June to place bait traps and replace all crawlspace insulation. They never replaced insulation and still billing for it. I contracted with Terminix in June 2013 to place bait traps, clean out under crawlspace, and remove old insulation and replace with new in crawlspace. This was financed for $7000. They placed bait traps immediately, but did not clean crawlspace. They ripped out 3/4 old insulation but never replaced with new. I made at least ten calls to **** ********, corporate, customer service, etc. It began to get colder and my crawlspace had no insulation. My boyfriend and I replaced ourselves since they would not do so in any timely fashion (months). They then said they would bring out a new contract for just the bait traps, but never did, and continue to charge me the extra $5k for insulation services I did not receive.

Complaint: terminix promised to do monthly treatments for 12 mos. Had me sign a contract. I paid them a down payment via credit card. I work out of state and requested that they come for services when I am home. They say they came in my absence one for treatment. They are demanding that I pay $520 for the treatment. This is not what they promised and I would like an amicable settlement. Until then I am not willing to pay for services not delivered as promised.Thank you Product_Or_Service: Termine Treatment
